I went there sunday expecting to have a great meal and I was very dissapoiinted to start with the butter was a whipped soft mess not the hotel type butter I had last time also the bread was like a cheap grinder roll, we ordered ribeye and maine lobster tail , the ribeye was more like a newyork sirloin very course as outback steakhouse not prime ribeye as I expected the lobster tail was just average quite dry , but served with a barbeque butter sauce , this is newengland not new mexico we use drawn butter with our lobster, the onion soup was very small not the crock more like a coffee cup. When I go to Ruth Chris iexpect to spend a lot of money for the best but all I got was a take out order from Outback
I arrived at around 8pm after making reservations, I was seated right away. Was given bread immediately, and I ordered the Voss water. I also ordered the pinot grigio (white wine) a glass, my water arrived first, my wine arrived 10 min later. Very disappointed with the service pre-entré.
I ordered the t-bone, but unfortunately they were out of T-bone, (the waitress should of known that before ordering) I was forced to have the cowboy rib-eye. For the appetizer I had the ravioli, Which was amazing!!!
Finally received the Entré , 45 min after getting here. Steak is excellent , but when asked for steak sauce, was given nearly empty bottle. Food has been eaten , and everything Pre-dessert was amazing!!!

I was very hesitant to spend $35 to $45 for a piece of beef as I can cook it myself, but I have to say that the beef at Ruth's Chris's Steak House is worth every penny.
We started with stuffed mushrooms and fried oysters, which were both outstanding. The ceasar salad was very good, not excellent, but good and one served two no problem. I loved the ribeye (although it really does float in butter when brought to the table) and the smell of butter is pretty pervasive, so you'd better like butter!!!
The sides are to die for. We had creamed spinach and au gratin potatoes, and both were the best I've ever had.
I have to say as someone who bakes, that the dessert didn't win any awards. I ordered the banana pie which was bland, bland, bland. The carmelized bananas were good, but the filling and crust had NO flavor. Our server, Jen, was excellent and when she asked how we liked the desserts and I said I didn't, she quickly removed it, asked if I wanted anything else, and took it off the check. My friend had the molten chocolate cake which was good, but not great.
I do have to say that I'm sititng here thinking about going back again, so the food leaves a memory. I will go back, maybe not too soon as it is a pricey place but worth the dollars for a special night out.

Been here a few times and love it. The food is of exceptional freshness and quality and the service is nearly faultless. The staff is extremely knowledgable and very approachable. The waiters we've had have been very helpful with suggestions and accomadating to my picky requests. I love that you can add things to your entree (like crab legs or lobster tails). Managers are present in the dining room every time we've been, which is rare even in restaurants of the same quality. This place is truly worthy of 5 stars. Some of my favorite dishes are the calamari, the bone-in ribeye, creamed spinach, and the apple tart. But everything I've ever tried has been wonderful with the exception of the crawfish appetizer (not my thing). I highly recommend Ruth's Chris.
The food is excellent, the atmosphere is sophisticated without being pretentious, the wait staff attentive... All in all this restaurant is a fabulous place to go whether you are dining for two, or bringing the whole family. The prices are a little higher than the commercial restaurants in your area, but well worth the cost.

This place has been as good as it gets in the Hartford area forever,
Still busy , packed every night, and still the best in Steak & Service!!
Everytime we go we see the same Servers and Managers which must
mean that something good is going on here!! Bravo!!

I am a picky eater and a critic of service. I have dined at Ruths Chris several times and have never been dissappointed! The food is top notch and so is the service. Staff is very friendly and polite. I order more than I can eat because the food is so good I don't want to miss anything! If I want a memorable experience I go to Ruths. They know how to take care of their guests. I highly recommend this dining experience. Leave room for dessert!!!!

Ruth's Chris is an elegant, ambient, comfortable restaurant. However, as far as best steak, not really. Don't get me wrong the steak was delicious, but i have had comprable, and better. Side dishes were wide in variety, and very tasty. Appetizers are outstanding. The atmosphere is excellent. The service unbeatable. wine selection is great. Excellent suggestion to win over a date. But bring your visa card, and maybe even a loan specialist because the prices are obscene, and i'm not sure they take american express. I will definately be going back soon. Paul B. - Bristol

The filet I ordered was pretty high quality, but I was mostly impressed with the service. Not only was our waiter fabulous and on top of his job, but there were several other people who were around to make sure that our meal went very smoothly and that we were satisfied, without being annoying in any way. The waitstaff was able to unobtrusively guide us from course to course, leading to an incredibly satisfying meal. I would recommend going to this restaurant.
This is the second time I have rated Ruth's Chris. I am the one who spilled the water because of the golf pro. Fuzzy. I saw him there again but didn't spill a thing. (Linda moved it). I failed to mention the last time, that since we have been eating at Ruth's Chris (maybe 13 years or so) we have NEVER NEVER eaten steak at any other restaurant. Not even in steakland(Texas). Keep up the great job Tom. Michael Shimansky and Linda Kellam
Incredible steaks, cooked in butter. Really does melt in your mouth. Their garlic mashed potatoes are also incredibly good. Everything is prepared fresh upon ordering. If you have a wad burning a hole in your pocket and are hungry or looking to impress someone, you can't do better than this.

I usually don't eat at restaurants that often but my best friend usually has his birthday parties at The Ruth's Chris Steak House and let me tell you the food is phenomenally delicious. The atmosphere is great, the service is incredible, and the food is unbelievable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who has a decent-sized wallet - it's not exactly cheap, but let me say this: If you want the best steak you will ever taste at an affordable price, you gotta go here! If you haven't tried Ruth's Chris, you haven't tried a good steak!
