I would be extremely careful to have any vehicle you look at not only checked by a qualified mechanic, but also be sure to do a CARFAX or AUTOCHECK history report. Also, be sure to make the Seller put in writing anything that is told to you, because according to the law "if it isn't in writing then it didn't happen." It doesn't matter if they told you something about the vehicles condition, it is only what you can or cannot prove.
Also, make sure to ask about the history of the vehicle, and do not take delivery of the vehicle until the Seller has the title to give you. State Law requires the Seller to hand you the title when you pick up the car, but that didn't happen in my case, and over a month later I am still waiting on it. I cannot tag the vehicle, let alone make sure the title is not a salvage or rebuilt.
It is also important to note that a majority of this Seller's vehicles are bought at auction in California. I looked at more than six vehicles on the day I first went to the lot by myself, and every one of them had obvious cosmetic or physical flaws. When I went back to meet with the Seller he hinted they were fleet or rental vehicles. I cannot confirm or refute that claim, but I do know that what I looked at had been used.
Just be sure to ask a lot of questions, and cover your bases because this Seller's memory and temper are very short!
