I am writing to report to you about a fraud business operating in Manhattan that is scamming people out of their money. I personally was scammed out of $168 and just recently the owner requested my bank account information in hopes of committing identity theft. I know there have been other victims as evident on ripoffreport.com. The culprits operate under the company NYC Casting Productions Inc, nyccastingproductions.com. They present themselves as a model & talent agency. They lure you in through false craigslist postings where they advertise a film or commercial casting. When you get to their office, you meet Kenny. Kenny talks very slick about the industry and who all he knows and what companies he's worked with; there are even pictures posted in the office of on set productions so that this all seems real. Kenny then goes on to talk about his personal life with you to really warm you up to him. Then, he tells you about Chelsy. Chelsy is his partner who you never meet. Chelsy has the exclusive castings and listings that you can't find through a google search or craigslist. She will submit you to these castings for a year fee. My fee was $168. He then has you read a simple one line script because after all, they lure you in for a film or commercial casting. He likes you; he tells you you will be put to work immediately, then emphasizes more on the exclusive submissions. I paid my fee and left his office. I called Chelsy after I left his office just to introduce myself and immediately I felt a red flag go up. She seemed a bit out of touch when I called and almost as if she wanted to rush me off the phone. I was told that she would get back to me shortly. She never did. I called Kenny a couple of times and his phone was off. A month later, I walked in to the office to find Kenny in the middle of his scam with someone else. When he was finished with that person, I demanded a refund as it had been a month and I had never received any correspondence. I had paid for services that were never rendered. Kenny tries to put it all on Chelsy saying that she is responsible for the refund and she will be the one to refund me my money. I called Chelsy and left her a vm; she never replied. In September, I filed a claim with the small claims court; the court date is set for December 3, 2015. I still did not hear from Kenny nor Chelsy. But I recently discovered other victims on ripoffreport.com. I left my own complaint on the site and that got Chelsy's attention. She called me and left me several voicemails exclaiming that they are not a scam and that she would be happy to refund my money. Communication went back and forth for about a week. I still have not received my refund. My last communication with her, was her asking me for my bank account information so she could deposit my refund into my account. I responded "Do you really thing I'm going to give you my bank account info?" this company is a scam. These people are taking people's hard earned money. They need to face consequences.
