The best electronics retailer out there: the best customer service in store where no commissions makes them famously credible for consumer advice, a pro audio-video staff and sales which is famously able to fill companies' needs and up their consumer ante, a site that matches Amazon and all those others on low prices, same-day ship and next day receive for nearly all Eastern US locations from their metro NYC warehouses, awesome friendly staff on email or chat or in store, great technical Q&A on their site, and a site that's gorgeous and fast-acting.
Just don't go there! I bought a Iphone 6 a couple of months ago... they told me it was an original one and that the wasn't any problem with warranty. It wasn't original at all and I have just had a problem and I' ll have to pay if I want to have the phone repaired! They are dishonest people and liars. The should be arrested for the dirty job they do! They gave me some business cards to give to friends who will go to New York so that the can buy items from them. Many friends of mine often go to New York on business and also my nephew in spending a few years in New York studying at the University. No doubt I'll tell them NOT TO GO THERE!! People like that only deserve to become beggars and pay for what they have done. I' m sure it will happen one day!!
Now sitting at home after our holiday in USA, which was blighted by walking into this shop, I can now see from several internet review websites that this shop has been practising its scams and unlawful business practices for many years and unless they are confronted and dealt with by the authorities they will continue. They must think they are totally bullet proof after at least 4 years of scamming people. Here's my story to add to this sorry list of appalling reviews of a completely unethical, fraudulent and deceitful business. Hindsight is wonderful but of little use when Ray, the S. O. B.(son of the boss) is working his "bait & switch" scam on you. Your gut is telling you these cameras are overpriced, a Sony Cybershot box priced at $1,600 and a Panasonic Lumix box priced at $6,000, but he won't take no for an answer and somehow he gets you to sign up for the cheaper camera. Then he won't let you go until you have signed for the more expensive camera, with a wide angle lens you don't want or need for $750 and a memory card for $435!! Lots of distraction by other shop staff and you just want out! Once away from the shop you realise what he has just done as the Panasonic Lumix model RRP is max $399, the lens is $20 and the memory card is $25. You have just been scammed out of $1,750 because you are a tourist in New York! So we went back to complain. This is the only bit I can say I liked about the whole experience, Ray's look of shock when we walked back in the shop. He did not want to offer any refund as his claim is he has to price $399 cameras for $6,000 because of the shop rental costs in New York. We have given Ray his opportunity to redeem himself, which he declined, so we have filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency and the Attorney General. So you have been warned. DO NOT ENTER THIS SHOP!!!! The rating is of course 0.
Buying your first camera can be a challenging decision, but thanks to 42 street photo, they made it so simple! The prices are the best you can find, and the customer service is excellent. Phone calls are returned asap and orders are delivered so quickly. I was so pleased with my purchases, which were a Nikon D5500 body along with a Nikon 35mm prime lense and tamron 16-300mm lense. This company is 5 star all-around!!! I would highly recommend!
Thanks GodI am going to give this company before buying the end of a few minutes after they discovered a suspicious act happened before the Indian seller and the seller is also the owner of the glasses cheater and a liar pranksterfrom Cairo Egypt
At the last minute I needed a battery for my camera and to replace the Shure Wireless Handheld Microphone. (stolen on the street). The folks here were super helpful. They made my day!
Tried to purchased an item from them in store. They pretended not to know the price and went to the computer to "look up" the price. I saw in the mirror they were using B&H's website, not theirs. I walked away.I went back a few months later to purchase another item (impulse buy). When I went home, I found out they charged less for the same item on the website. I called them up and they said I need to go to the store. Fine. I went to the store and asked for a refund/store credit. The first time I went back, they say I need to talk to Jack. Fine. The second time I went back, Jack still was not there but another salesman I spoke to said I could get a 15% refund when I talk to Jack. He also said the "online model" is a export model and not US. Fine. I went home, called Sigma, and they said there is no different export or US-only model. I went back to the store the THIRD time, still no Jack, but I found the original salesman who sold me this item. He would not look me in the eye. He said no refunsd, no exchanges, no store credit, and accused me of trying to take advantage of them.Bunch of crooks. Do not ever do business with them.
The staff at K&M are terrific. They really go out of their way to be helpful. They know the gear and will always put in the extra effort to quickly process a rush order. We have used them for years and are very happy with the service. Ross, the owner, runs a great company. Very fair prices. First class gear
If you work close to Tribeca, like me, you will find no better place for camera rentals. The prices always beat out B&H so I always go with them. The staff is always happy to answer any question I have. Lastly when I put an order in, its always ready when I arrive unlike many other rental houses where I wait forever no matter how far in advance I call.
The studio I work for is occasionally in need of last minute expendables, additional lights, stands, and camera and lens rentals. Luckily, K&M is close by and an easy one-stop-shop, although I have found that placing an order over the phone can be a quicker route rather than just walking in. Prices are competitive, comparable or sometimes even lower than B&H.
