I have been a drummer and a writer all of my life, and I knew I wanted to work in entertainment industry; I just wasn't sure how I would be able to get the ball rolling. I heard about the recording connection when I was looking for Audio schools to attend after college, and quickly realized that it would be more beneficial and cheaper than any audio institution. I knew I wanted to be in New York, so I did my research and asked to be put in a very prominent recording studio. From day one I knew it was the place for me, relaxed atmosphere, great staff of good people, amazing room located in the center of the universe. I started applying myself from day one trying to be proactive and helpful wherever I could, and I became acquainted with the staff and regular studio goers. As time progressed, I started sitting in on more sessions and meeting artists, producers, engineers and accomplished entrepreneurs and personalities who were able to offer me real opportunity. After several months I was taken on as an intern. I learned so much about working in a studio environment that first six months; it's hard to even fathom how far I've come in such a short time (Not even taking into account the technical aspects).By being outgoing, humble, and making relationships with the people I met in-studio; I was able to sell myself and create connections. I played with some bands, produced some songs with people, and am now focused solely on a project I am embarking on (with my partner and co-apprentice from the recording connection, where we work with the same mentor. We are two pieces of the band for one of Wu-Music Groups newest artists and potentially touring NYC and maybe even South America!!!'

I went to this school to get my license a few years ago and I have gone back for every renewal (and a designation) since. Their staff is knowledgeable and helpful every single time, and the classes are great! \r \r They helped me start my career and even were there when I moved up to Dallas than…
I had actually been attending a University for two years, studying recording, engineering, and music production. I did learn a lot, but it wasn't real world, it wasn't real life. It was based on base scenarios. When I started looking around for more of a specialty program, I found the Recording Connection on the Internet, and read a little bit more and watched some of the interviews and some of the videos that they had. I really like the fact that I got put into an actual studio, a running studio that has their own clients. I wanted a real life experience, and that's why the Recording Connection program drew me in. Since I've graduated, I actually got a job working here at the Lava Room, the recording studio where I did my courses. I'm an assistant engineer and working my way up very fast to becoming a full staff engineer.
We really like this school. The class size is small and nurturing. The teachers are top notch and collaborative. The young children go to the playground every morning and have gym, art, music and French twice a week. In addition they have classroom work time as well. Their exmissions are impressive.
Getting to work with some great underground groups like Yankee Bang Bang was great. I'll always value the experience of working alongside professionals and having the chance to steal all of their tricks. Totally worthwhile experience.
At different Furs I was fully invovled in the studio and a few weeks in I got started working on all the boards!
