Are there dedicated recycling centers for electronics?

How high can a pallet be stacked?
There are two limitations for pallet stacking, stacking empty pallets and stacking a load on a single pallet. When loading a pallet with goods, the load should not exceed 60 inches in height for shipping. In warehouses, 72 inches is the maximum height. What is a pallet made of?
The most common material used to make pallets is wood – it is plentiful, sturdy and affordable. More than 90% of pallets in the United States are wood. Plastic pallets are the next most popular and are mostly used in the grocery industry. They are lighter and more flexible than wood, but less durable and diverse in their usage. Paper-based pallets are also available, but stacking and weight limits create limitations. The upside to them is they are lighter and can be recycled after use. Molded presswood pallets are popular among the Postal Service, but have limited appeal in the general marketplace. Metal pallets are heavy, making them a difficult choice due to increased weight loads during transportation.
What is a four way pallet?
A four-way pallet is designed to be picked up by a forklift on all four sides, versus the standard two-sided pallets. Wooden pallets are two-tiered, with a top and a bottom and roughly a 6 ½ inch space between them. A forklift’s prongs can slide inside either of the two open sides. The other two sides contain stringer boards, which are basically wood sides that create strength and stability. In a four way pallet, the stringer boards have notches removed that allow the forklift’s prongs to slide in and pick up the pallet. Two-sided pallets do not have that.
