Never SHOP here. This place gets the lowest rating because of the way they treated my family and me, and for the assumptions they made about us.
Here is the story: I went to NYC over the weekend with my husband, and my two children. We walked by this store and went inside to look. I looked at children's clothes and ended up spending about $500 on clothes for my kids. When I got back to the hotel I noticed that some of the items I got were a tad small on my infant daughter. I went back the next day to return the items and I was told that they were ""sale"" items and could not be exchanged. They told me that if I found the exact same item in a larger size they would allow the exchange. So I went to the rack to look. And I know that being Latina and having darker skin means I will likely steal from you, so obviously the lady that I had spoken to had to keep a close eye on me. Obviously.
Well, the lady hovered around me while I looked at the clothes. She asked me several times if I needed help and I told her, ""no, thank you."" She continued to hover around me, watching my every move as if to make sure I didn't steal anything. I was so offended that I just stopped looking at the clothes and got up to leave. As I put my daughter in the stroller, the same lady came up to the stroller and started looking around it as if I had stashed something in it and I was about to walk out without paying. This after I spend almost $500 the day before!! I finally asked her if she would like to look through my stroller before I left.
This total and blanket RACISM should not be tolerated!! Just because I speak Spanish with my kids (I am an American citizen by the way) and I have darker skin does not mean I am going to go into your snotty store and STEAL clothes, especially after I spend a whole bunch of money there the day before. I was really offended by the treatment I got here and I will never EVER go back, and I will tell everyone I know that this store employs racist people who will treat you badly and attempt to humiliate you in front of your family.
DO NOT SHOP HERE.
And for the record, the woman who helped me was white, worked on the second floor where the children's clothes are, had long brown hair, and was about 5'4"". I did not catch her name unfortunately.
