WARNING!!!!!!!!! Credit Card Fraud at Webster Hall? The only time I used my CHASE card was at Webster Hall 25 E 11th St New York last Wed during THE KOOKS concert. 2 days later (Today), I got a charge of 250 dollars. Did someone have the same type problem? I called Chase and was told, this was someone with a CARD READER stealing my Credit Card Number?

So, miike snow was supposed to be at webster hall last night, we never made it that far. I go to the bathroom, and my mobile phone falls out of my pocket. Immediately i get out of the bathroom stall to look for it, assisted by some very nice patrons. Shortly thereafter I ask the bathroom attendant if she saw my phone, and after an initial denial she informs me that she found 'a phone' and for 15 dollars i can have a look to check. I go fetch my boyfriend and she promptly yells at him, after i call security i get my phone and he admits she's dishonest, but the great part is, in trying to tell a manager, the manager yells at ME and suggests that we get out since in all his years he's never heard of anything like this. i will NEVERRR return to webster hall

Before i say anything else -- DO NOT GO TO WEBSTER HALL. It is a cool venue with lots of floors and music, but the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE customer treatment cannot be ignored. The bouncers are completely rude, and judging from these reviews, Webster Hall probably knows and does absolutely nothing to change that. Besides the bouncers, I had an awful experience there and definitely won't be going back. This is what I wrote on their facebook wall, which the deleted, unsurprisingly:
""I just want to say that webster hall was one of the worst club experiences I've ever had. First of all, my friend won a promotional contest on twitter and was supposed to have an open bar at 10 for him and 4 of his friends. Not only did you change the time of the promotion which is extremely unprofessional, but he was not on the list despite having told you ahead of time he would be coming. Also, he emailed ahead of time to ask if it was okay he brought a copy of his ID since he lost his a few weeks ago, and he is from out of town so could not replace it in a timely manner. You told him that was fine. When he got there, no one knew we were supposed to be on the list, and no one knew that he had special circumstances regarding his ID. There was a huge debacle which would have been non existent had your team been better communicative and prepared, like any other proper bar establishment of your caliber. He showed them proof of the email on his smart phone, and was still treated in a suspicious and unprofessional manner. NOT ONLY THAT, but you confiscated one of our guests IDs and wouldn't let her in, despite it being her actual ID. You took it without even asking for any other identification, such as a credit card or college ID, and would not give it back. AND- while we were waiting in line, the bouncer made snarky and condescending comments about how we looked. As far as I'm concerned, Webster hall is at the bottom of my list for places to go, and I hope no one else supports you with their money. Please, go ahead and delete this post. It will only continue to prove my point that you have terrible customer service and take no means to improve it.""
Another rude worker messaged me with a condescending, response. She did not really try to rectify any of my issues, nor did she even apologize until I pointed it out to her in my own response. She says she ""tried to make good twice"" on my issues, which in reality what she did was defend the webster staff for their entirely unacceptable behavior towards paying customers, and brushed off my problems by saying I could call during the day. Yes, you're right, obviously only people can help me during the day, which is why you are able to respond to my facebook message at night with unhelpful remarks. She also REFUTED what I said in the post, saying that my friend WAS on the list and that my other friend's ID must have been taken for a valid reason-- um, no, he wasn't on the list and her ID was taken for no reason. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF MY WRITING A COMPLAINT. It's completely insulting that instead of trying to fix my experience with Webster, she contradicted my entire statement as if I hadn't been present and was making up the entire situation. Hey, Webster, maybe you wouldn't need so many stupid promotionals on twitter and facebook to persuade people to begrudgingly make their way to your venue if you simply improved the quality of your staff and maybe worked just a little bit harder to communicate amongst each other? No, I guess that would make too much sense.
The club itself was awesome! Its huge in size and has all types of music which you can get down to. The drinks were good and not overpriced. The bartenders did a good job at not watering down the drinks. The dj was great, played everything from house to spanish music. The crowd. It was, well lets just say young, real young! I had kids (which looked like they were 13-15 years old) bumping into me. It was obnoxious. I mean i understand in a club you will get bumped into but i had elbows in my back, people pushing and shoving eachother trying to walk through, lets just say my drink ended up on my fiancee's white shirt. Overall the night was good, minus the elbows and pushing.

I wish I could give this place zero stars!
I went to Lach Presents at Webster Hall a couple nights ago and really enjoyed it. I fell deeply in love with Ching Chong Song, and renewed my love for The Fools and Master Lee. Then I checked my bank statement the next day and saw that Webster Hall charged me an extra $150. The bank tells me that Webster Hall has to fax a letter to remove the hold. When I called them, they refused to do it. They told me that when you open a tab, they hold $150. No one told me that. If I had known that, I never would have opened a tab. I am an unemployed artist. I have automatic payments that are going through tomorrow, and my account will now be overdrawn because of this, plus I really like eating food to survive. I explained all of this, and still no one would do it. I am a very composed person, and this drove me to hysterical crying on the phone with them. They won't take five minutes to fax a letter. I'm so, so upset. I was looking forward to coming to the Antihoot on Tuesday, but I don't see how I can ever go back to Webster Hall after being treated this way.
Also, I went out of my way to do the right thing. When the Webster Hall staff sent us into the wrong show, then gave us a hard time about getting our money back to see the right show, they finally let us into the right show but through the side entrance. Now, I totally could have gotten away without paying, but I found out where the door guy was, and paid the admission for myself and my friend. If I hadn't done that, I at least would have had a little cash in my pocket, but now I have no cash and will soon have an overdrawn bank account. I just don't understand how businesses get away with screwing people over the way that they do.
Today they informed me that correcting their mistake was ""not at the top of their priorities"". They admitted that I should have been asked to sign a form stating that they would hold this $150, a form that I clearly was not presented with. They have yet to even apologize! This place is horrible!

Went to Webster this past friday, and don’t really know what everyone is complaining about…. Very typical NYC in every aspect. Do you ppl go out?
Yes there was a line outside, but this is standard. Yes the door ppl were a little short with you, but this is standard. Prices for drinks and coat check were no higher nor lower than EVERY OTHER NIGHT CLUB in the city!!! Personally, I had a good time. It was cool to go from room to room with the different music. Although the space is, what seems to be, never ending with secret stairways, I found my way to a good time in all the rooms and was actually entertained for once by a nightclub.

I went to this place with some friends and we got a VIP table (We were the only one in VIP…bad service), we were good until one of the security guys took one my friends out because she was getting sleep. I saw them taking her to other place without let us know so I went after them to see what is happening. When I tried to ask them about what the problem is, without any reasons, they throw me out as a trash bag! They pushed me, locked my neck and carried me throwing me out to the street with snow outside. The police showed up and helped me to get my jacket. The worst part is that they knew they did it wrong so they tried to convince me to go inside again!!!!! Unbelievable!!!...Take care of people of the door!!...My legs were scratched with their nails. They are animals.

My cousin came up from Georgia to visit NJ for a few weeks. She really wanted to go clubbing in NYC. Since she's only 19 the clubs were limited. Since it was late (1am) we decided to go to Webster Hall because the cover charge was the cheapest out of all the other clubs ($25 compared to $40 at Pacha). Once we paid the entrance, security groped the hell out of us. Besides rigorously checking our purses, they checked the lining of our coats and pockets. After such a thorough ""inspection"" we were free to go. After just a few hours in the main room, we smelled a foul odor and felt a burning sensation on our skin. A few seconds later my cousin starts screaming uncontrollably that she went blind! We went to the bathroom after realizing we'd just been sprayed with some type of acid and i flushed her eyes out, including my own. After about 10 minutes of rinsing and spitting (because it got in our mouths and noses) i went to the front desk to see a manager and have an ambulance called over. The 2 idiots had the AUDACITY to tell me to go log online and place a complaint on their website. After demanding a manager and EMT, someone finally came and took a look at my cousin who was still screaming from the burning pain in her eyes. As it turns out, the ""acid"" turned out to be pepper spray. Now... my question is how the hell would anyone be able to get passed security with such a thing? What if it had been a gun or knife? they don't have metal detectors so anyone could easily get passed security if they hide a weapon good enough. Security at this venue needs to do their job correctly because anyone can be seriously hurt or God forbid worse. At the end, we got our money back and were told that we could come back the following week and get in for free but knowing that i'm not safe completely stops me from going there. i know it must have been wrong place and time but this will probably happen again at that whole in the wall.. poor excuse of a club. If you cherish your life, DO NOT COME HERE

Webster Hall was never one of the best clubs in NY but it's gotten progressively worse over the past few years. My friends and I used to frequent the club before we turned 21 because it was one of the few places with a college night. The lines were not too long, the music was good, and there were a ton of options.
Since then they've gone under a reconstruction that took far too long and made the lower floor half its normal size for months, they no longer play reggae or Latin music (now there is only a techno and Top 40 room), and they have been attracting the wrong crowd. On one night there is a crude, amateur strip tease on the main floor and on another night there's an open mic for local rappers who bring all sorts of riff raff as fans. I also hear that they scam local artists and promoters, so be careful if doing business with this club.
I would probably only return for a concert which I hear is one of the few things they do well.
