My wife and I have been bringing our two cats to the Cat Practice for seven years, and we have always been extremely satisfied with the service. Over the years, our cats have had a variety of problems, from abcessed teeth to urinary track infection to ear infections to problems with their weight, and we have always felt confident bringing our cats to the Cat Practice. Dr. Sullivan is an excellent vet, and his staff has always been very courteous and helpful. And we love that our cats get their treatment at a dog-free facility!
I would recommend the Cat Practice to anybody - and in fact I do, whenever I meet a fellow cat owner.

I was a customer of the Cat Practice for many years. In general the quality of care, espically from Dr. Skip was fine and I admit that having the office in the neighborhood also made for a convenient arrangement. His services do not come cheap. Recently we had a dear cat with a lingering illness. I never added up the bills, but we spent several thousand dollars there, most of it in the final months of his life.
When it was finally his time, we took him to the office to be euthanized. I was handed a bill as we left and just signed the credit card slip without looking at it. Several days later I found that in addition to the ?procedure,? I was actually billed for an office visit!
How do you spell GREED?

I boarded my cat with the Cat Practice over Thanksgiving and he couldn't have been happier. The staff was very attentive (both when he arrived and when he departed) and were careful to place him near friendly cats. The boarding and examination area are spotless (even when my boyfriend and I arrived at the end of the night unannounced) and smell clean. All the other cats I saw there seemed to be happy and were very well cared for. All the litter boxes had fresh litter, the food bowls has fresh wet food and the cages were otherwise tidy. I would recommend this place to owners who love their cats

I had been taking my Siamese cats to Dr. Sullivan for 20 years..since his practice was in the Village. I had complete faith in the vet care and was confident even boarding my animals there when I myself was hospitalized unexpectedly. The reception staff was also attentive and helpful. HOWEVER--when a bill was inadvertently not paid it was immediately sent to a collection agency.! No attempt was made to contact me to address the situation. I found this very unprofessional and unacceptable not to mention embarrassing!
I have since taken my cats elsewhere for lack of this poorly managed practice.

Ok so we're still early into our experience with the Cat Practice as we just took our little train wreck there earlier today but first signs are super positive. You might consider opting out of some of the more thorough efforts of the doctor. She's doing the right thing but this place is appropriately expensive (high quality and in NYC) but you can rack up a serious bill super fast so you might consider if you really need blood work done. This IS NOT an attempt to over-charge you, that's really not their schtick but just something to think about. The whole vibe of the place is absolutely fantastic and they take in abandoned cats and support them without help from others - I really can't overemphasize how cool they are. Very professional and helpful staff and you'll practically want to spend the whole day there hanging out with all the fun cats who seem to pretty much run the place. And even with that, its super clean and overall just great from top to bottom. I guess that's why I went with the 5 stars. We're believers.

After seeing two other vets about our cat?s chronic respiratory issue, we went to The Cat Practice. (Previously we had been told by the other vets that the issue was likely allergy-related and hard to diagnose/treat.) Dr. Sullivan was not satisfied with this surface explanation and conducted multiple tests. The cat tested positive for a bacterial organism, which required a medication specific to the bacteria to finally rid the cat of this ongoing, chronic problem. Without Dr. Sullivan?s help, who know how long the other vets would have needed to get the diagnosis right, if at all? Long and short, I wish we had not wasted time, money and our pet's comfort going elsewhere before here. Dr. Sullivan was prompt, caring, knowledgeable, and accessible for follow up. He is as competent and genuine as they come. After visiting The Cat Practice, Dr. Sullivan is the only vet we would we trust with our cat?s health.
