I have returned to sing the praises about The Barrow Group! Loved them so much, I just had to come back for more. I’ve taken several classes here at this point, all with different teachers, and I continue to be amazed every time at the level of professionalism and knowledge that these instructors are armed with. Barrow has such a robust system that really allows its’ students to thoroughly work and learn, never wasting our time, and making sure to respect the energy and money students put into each class. The level of high quality teaching offered so consistently from one class to the other never fails to impress me. Barrow has such a low pressure and supportive environment, so I always felt comfortable enough to do my best work. Whether you’re an amateur just looking to start acting or a seasoned veteran of theatre, Barrow has something to offer for everyone. Special shout-out to these teachers: Tricia Alexandro, Chris Wells, and Martin Van Treuren!
My experience so far with the Barrow Group has been wonderful. From the very first class, I felt comfortable and encouraged. Their philosophy in general is great, and it was cool to see simple suggestions opening up my classmates and turning their performances into richer and more
moving experiences for everyone in the room. I’m excited to continue on to the next level.
Taking class at The Barrow Group is a beautiful, meaningful experience. I just finished my first acting class there and immediately signed up for a second one. I never really understood what acting could be, how enjoyable it could be, how capable of it I could be, until this class. I love it and recommend it for anyone considering it. You don't have to know anything to learn a lot; I know this because I didn't really know anything and I learned a lot! They helped me understand what acting is and can be, and it became immediately accessible to me. 5 out of 5 stars. Infinite stars, really!
I recently took an on-camera acting class and I really appreciated the hands-on approach. It allowed me to practice in front of others and receive valuable feedback. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this class is a great investment for anyone looking to improve their acting abilities!
This class taught me to connect with the song and the lyrics to make it personal and unique. The students in the class are professional and inspiring and I learned much from them as well as the instructor....who has a rich background in musical theatre. The class exceeded my hopes and I will be taking it again soon
I recently took TBG's two-week intensive Beginner Acting I class with Quinn and it was awesome! Quinn is a great instructor, and the community at The Barrow Group is super kind and supportive. My class was a nice size and everyone showed up ready to engage.
Highly recommend this class or one of their others if you're interested in exploring acting. I've signed up for another class already :)
Professional working actors teaching acting where you can truly understand the craft, then understand your own craft. Open. Supportive. Great Experience
I totally recommend the Barrow Group. The instructors and classes were great. They really make you feel comfortable and that acting is a natural process that anyone can do.
Amazing school with a variety of teachers and classes to help you grow into the actor you want to be
The Barrow Group has a stellar reputation, and my recent experience in their Beginner Acting III On-Camera Film/TV classes definitely lived up to the expectations. What I appreciated most was the practical, hands-on approach. We weren't just talking about theory; we were actively applying The Barrow Group tools to scenes and monologues, which solidified my understanding of their technique.
The On-Camera techniques were particularly insightful. The instructor went beyond the basics by giving us a taste of what it's actually like on set. We tackled the technical side of things, like hitting marks and working with the camera, which can be intimidating for beginners. Having a dedicated week for audition techniques was also incredibly helpful. It demystified the process and gave me more confidence going into the audition room.
