The 40/40 Club
6 W 25th St, New York, NY 10010
This is hands down my favorite place in the city. I come here almost every week to enjoy dinner and just the atmosphere of the place. It has to be one of the chicest places I have been to in the city. I frequented the venue before the renovations, but now it's almost like I'm addicted to this place. There are always games on the screen with music interwoven throughout the commercial breaks. The manager are friendly, the hostesses are beautiful, the servers make great dining recommendations and the bartenders know their stuff. I recommend this place if you are looking for a sports bar thats better than norm, where you can sit back and relax and enjoy in luxury.
**a bonus treat: you never know who may come in, one night I was there and Shaq walked in and had dinner mere feet away from me.**
This venue is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! I had actually purchased a voucher through Gilt City for cocktails and appetizers and decided to use it for a girls night and I am happy that I did. My girls and I decided to go on a Thursday after work to have dinner and drinks and we had a great time. Our server was great, made great suggestions on the menu and was very attentive throughout the night. There was a game playing in the background and music interwoven throughout. It wasn't overbearing to the point where I couldn't have a conversation and I appreciated that. A manager came over and checked on me and my party and wanted to ensure that we were being taken care of and that was something else that I appreciated. We had a great night and ended up staying longer that originally planned.
The 40/40 Club is a great place to just kick back and relax and enjoy the atmosphere. We had a great experience all around and are thinking to make it our ""girls night out"" spot.
I would completely recommend this place and am sure that I will some of you there!

I typically neverbother to write review but this time around my experience was so appauling, I just HAD TO. I would have given it ""negative"" stars, if I could, by Citysearch doesn't offer this option. We arrived at 40/40 Club with another couple (a party of 4) on Friday, March 23, at about 6:45 PM. We were seated promptly by a pleasant smiley hostess. The waitress arrived shortly thereafter. We wer planning to redeem one of the Groupon-type vouchers. The waitress seemed puzzled that we had a voucher, although I alerted at the time of the reservation we would be redeeming one. She then reluctantly took it, but she would not point out whether specific things where included or excluded in the voucher when I inquired. We ordered a round of drinks, which she got two of wrong. One person in our party who doesn't drink alcohol ordered a club soda and she brought over a tiny glass filled with ice cubes with maybe 2 ounces of liquid. Refill requests took 40 minutes each to arrive (for the soda). Other beverages were of acceptable quality, nothing special, overpriced if I had paid full price. We proceeded to order appetizers. One of our appetizers never arrived, one more was the wrong one and the server was arguing with us for a while saying that this was what we had ordered (we ordered fish tacos while we got fish fingers for some reason); after a long ordeal they finally replaced it and brought what we had ordered. The rest of the appetizers tasted pretty decent. After the appetizer ordering fiasco and 40-minute waits for soda refills we decided we didn't want a second round of drinks and requested a check. We waited 45 minutes. 45 MINUTES. I am not kidding. AND WE STILL DIDN'T GET IT. Over the course of the wait time, the waitress disappeared, so I had been hunting down the hostess who told me that they are ""trying to figure out how to process the voucher"". Upon my third inquiry with the hostess, I demanded to see the manager who was not in sight. When the manager didn't show up within 15 minutes, I told the hostess we were leaving and that we had left $20 on the table that should have taken of the 2 extra club sodas and tax on top the things we had ordered that were supposedly covered by the voucher (4 appetizers, 4 drinks). The tip was out of the question at that point, obviously, given the level of service. As we had stepped out in the street, all of a sudden our waitress reappeared out of nowhere (after I repeatedly scoured the place for 45 minutes looking for her in vain), accomplanied by the manager (who was nowhere to be found when I requested to speak to him in the first place). They handed us an $84 dollar check with charges for 2 appetizers, 1 drink, and upcharge for 2 martinis and a service charge. Their claim was that things we had ordered weren't included in the voucher, even though I specifically requested when ordering whether those things would be covered and the waitress said that ""everything is covered"". I refused to pay the bill based on them trying to defraud me and told them to call the police if they wanted to make me to. They quickly took the bill back and the manager said he would ""take care"" of it, he doesn't understand how that could have happened, that we were served by his best waitress (???!!!) and that he doesn't want us leaving with a bad experience. Too late. My experience was RUINED. I have been going out in the city for 12 years, never once did I have to deal with such a nightmare and disrespect. Obviously, I am never going there again, advising everyone I know against going back, and spreading the word online for folks to stay away from this place. I am just very disappointed that a Friday night out I was looking forward to all week went so wrong.
was at the 40/40 Club last night to help celebrate the NY GIANTS Superbowl Victory and had an AMAZING experience. Between the decor and the service, I was completely blown away, but what else can you expect from a business owned by Jay-z? The host who greeted me the door was gracious and my server was very sweet and knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. I enjoyed the 40/40 wings as an appetizer and the collossal shrimp as an entree, and both were delicious. After enjoying a delicious dinner, where I was able to watch the New York Knicks beat the Los Angeles Lakers, I stayed to help the NY Giants celebrate their Superbowl victory. I even enjoyed the crowd that celebrated along with the Giants. All in all I had a great experience and can't wait to experience it again.
Would I recommend this bar/lounge/restaurant to other people? Yes I would and I will make sure that I am with them to enjoy it.
As a fan of Jay-z I decided to try his latest business venture, the 40/40 Club. And true to Mr. Carter's form, the 40/40 Club didn't disappoint. I went on a Monday night to watch the Knicks and to grab a bite to eat with my man. And I couldn't have had a better experience. The club looks amazing and gives off an intimate yet exclusive vibe that I enjoyed. There was music in the background that wasn't overpowering which allowed me and my boyfriend to have a conversation while watching the game (which I can promise you I enjoyed more than he did). We were treated like VIP's from the moment we walked into the door, greeted by a hostess who seated us in a great ""stadium"" like section, that gave us a great view of the large screens in the main bar. The food was absolutely delicious and our server was courteous and knowledgeable of the menu and able to make suggestions that she thought we would enjoy.
Even as we enjoyed our meal, we were offered a tour of club and was able to see the beauty of the entire structure on both levels. Kudos to the staff and management for running such a great establishment. We'll be back for Valentine's Day.

We threw our 2nd Delta Phi party this year for our fraternity brothers and sisters in Atlantic City this past weekend at the 40/40 club. The 40/40 club in AC was awesome! We had VIP access on the 2nd floor which also included all the VIP rooms. It was great to see all my friends from college that I haven't seen since we graduated. The music was great and the girls were smokin hot. I would definitely recommend going to the 40/40 club in AC for 4th of July weekend!!!
I couldn't go away for memorial day weekend so while all of my friends were hitting the beach in other states I decided to stay in NY and hit the club scene. I saw a promotion on the 40/40 clubs website that stated that if it was your birthday you would receive a free cake/ champagne. I went for it, it's my birthday why pay! I was escorted to a table where I was met by a very nice blonde sever (sorry dont remember his name). Anyway food was awesome, drinks were good, and service was great. A true New Yorker knows its hard to find a place that makes good drinks and this place nailed it. At midnight my cake was brought out . I was all smiles because not only was it good but it was a whole cake for myself and two friends. We were able to take the rest home and ate it the next day after we recovered from our night out. I say try it!
my boyfriend and I were arguing about a place to go. he wanted to watch some game that was playing but I wanted to dance with my friends. Long story short , the 40/40 is the place for any of it. One of my bf's friends suggested the 40/40 club and every one of us, boys and girls, had sooo much fun. The boys watched their game, and we danceddd like crazy, although there was only music on during the commercials while their game was on. but after the game, the place got crazy! it turns into like a serious nightclub after the game. we had so much fun and we're allll goin back!!! I LOVEE YOUU BEYONCEE!! LMAO
I believe it was game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on a friday night so my friends and I wanted to a) watch the game and b) get drunk and have a great time dancing and interacting with girls...I didn't know a great place to do both until my friend told me about this place...so happy I listened to him. We got there a lil after the game started and before we even got past security, we could see the score...When we got in, some cute waitress greeted us to a table where we ordered some food and drinks. Prices were NYC prices, nothing out of the ordinary. But what I loved was the atmosphere to watch a game like that. There were tons of miami fans and tons of bulls fans and the competition was amazing. Everyone felt like they knew eachother, giving high fives to the table next to you. It was so much fun. The bartender was hilarious, he hated the heat so he'd try hooking all the bulls fans up when there was a big play haha! and by the time the game had ended, the place was filling up with people, mostly girls! all dressed to impress, we got there at 8 45 and didnt leave til 4 am! absolutely coming back for big games! and even just to club it up! thanks jay-z! haha
A few of my friends and i stopped at the 4040 club for drinks after work on a thurday night. We always knew that it was a great night club so we decided to check it out during its sports bar hours. The place is great. The servers were extremely quick and helpful, the drinks were amazing and the crowd was very welcoming. Its a great place to check out during the week when youre just trying to relax, have drinks and watch the game with a bunch of die hard sports fans. I heard they were doing renovations for the rest of the summer and I cant wait to go back and see what new things the club hads to offer.

I recently attended a Bat Mitzvah at the 40/40 club. Yes, they rent out the venue for parties! First of all they turned a place that is considered a sports lounge into a girl's fantasy. The decor was amazing!! I dont know who did the lighting and all the other stuff but I was impressed. The DJ, MC, and dancers were awesome they kept everyone moving all night. At 11pm when the party was supposed to end no one wanted to leave. If you are looking for a space for any party the 40/40 club is a great choice. They can create, transform the club into anything.
