I've been to innumerable salons in NYc over the past 15 (or more!) years, but April has a way of cutting and then styling my hair that is above and beyond. I have never left there without feeling better than when I walked in - emotionally as well!
I have had more people ask me who cuts my hair over the past several years than I can say.
I trust her completely, love the vibe and her staff.

For years I have been having my hair cut by ""the best"" until I met April. All I have to say is NO CONTEST!!!! That girl is a miracle walking. She did for my hair what no other supposedly great stylist did. Please do not listen to any negative comments b/c I grew up in the beauty parlor business and the most important thing in my life has been going to get a haircut.
I think she is above anyone I have ever gone to and she is so sweet and caring. I love my hair so much, I can't stop looking at it!!! I am hooked, thank you April.....

I LOVE going to Suite 303. April's been cutting my hair for 3 years and you couldn't pay me to go anywhere else. The color is always perfect too. It is so worth it. Try sitting in her chair and letting her go with her vision for you. She's an artist and an innovator. Thank you April!!

have had my hair cut by april a number of times...every OTHER haircut was ""pretty good"" which for the money is unacceptable..but so hard to find a good curly hair cutter...., (btw...price changes all the time!.)..
well...the last hair cut and color was the worst.... a $10 supercuts haircut, at best....when i went back to have it fixed, i got a lecture as opposed to an apology..a level of arrogance unjustified by her talent ,or lack there of....not a clue as how to style curly...and the whole edward scissorhands
approach to cutting is RIDICULOUS!!!..
DEFINITELY not the rock start that she thinks she is...
STEAR CLEAR!!!!!don't let the whole chelsea hotel thing lure you in...every time i would go there would different staff....certainly says something about the way she runs her business....BAD!!!!!!!!!!BAD....BAD!!!!

i was seeing a stylist at suite 303, her name was stephani and was bummed when she left and i couldn't reach her. it's a rare thing to find someone who cuts my hair right, as well as i really liked her on a personal level. imagine how unhappy i was to call the salon to find out she was no longer there, and when i asked if they knew where she was the receptionist actually said 'i don't know, i'm only a receptionist"".
yeah, so much for a live person at the desk.
anyway, thanks to a lil' google in my life, i found her at ion salon in soho...if anyone else is in the same predicament as i was, you are no more!

I met april when i was in a crossroads in my career..I fell upon her salon when I was about to give up.. I tryed out for her and did well, but she had other people to build there. I understood, but that day that I met her is forever in my heart. It was pooring oyt, i wa able to get models for cuts. I was tired , hungry, but I was so impressed by her and her energy was amazing. She showed me some cool things to do, and she welcomed me into her sweet, that day. April showed me that eventhough she has a funky high end salon, she was so nice to me. She didnt act like she was better, or act like some narcasistic hairstylists that I had encountered on my journey for a new home. She is truley inspirational; in many ways. I am glad I met her and I still stop by once and a while to say hi.. Miss you april.. Thank u jill

Mariano is just AMAZING. He is the master of the cute pixie short hair cut halle berry looking style. Professional, fun and a joy to be around. No-one else can do what he does. And to top it off, the salon is in the most amazing Chelsea Hotel... perfect!

80 dollars worth spent. i mean really a pair of true religion jeans are 420 so to me its worth it.. if you cant afford it than sorry cause your missing out. i had a great experience.. as soon as i walked in they were offering me juice water coffee whatever and coming from jersey you don't get that everyday so pretty cool. i had Stefani cut my hair and at first i wasnt sure about things cause i know they cut womens hair but i wasnt sure how she was gonna shape my hair and no barber has ever done anything close, she knew what she was doing. i had the day off from school so i didn't mind that it took an hour and a half but i was chattin it up so its all good. after she was done april came over checked out my cut and did a little touch up but over all it was perfect. i felt like an idiot because i think i daid awesome like 20 times i was just really happy with the hair cut and that i found my new salon...... ill be there in another month or so and i cant wait to go back!

I've been going to Chris Scena for my haircuts for two years. He's the best guy around for men and women's cuts -- I've sent dozens of my friends to him and they have all loved their cuts.
So imagine my surprise when all of a sudden, I call 303 for my next appointment and they tell me that he is ""gone."" Worse yet, they refuse to give me his contact information! But, after looking for weeks and weeks, I finally found him at Rizza Salon (212.206.7622). The place is much quieter and calmer than 303. I still have a lot of warm feelings about this place, but I'm gonna follow Chris wherever he goes.

From the moment one walks into Suite 303, it's apparent that the place is different. Most high-end salons have attitude, and Suite 303 is no exception. What -is- exceptional is that unlike most places on the cutting edge of fashion, Suite 303's attitude is welcoming, not snobby. That's because this place doesn't need to be snobby to be cool - the staff knows it's cool, so they're warm, open and accepting. April, Stefani and the rest of the team take the time to learn what makes each client tick - they're not looking to impose their own vision on their clients so much as bring their clients' visions to life. The experience is akin to hanging out in the living room of your coolest, bohemian friend and having her give you the best makeover you've ever had.

I was very interested when I read the other reviews here, because they matched my experience. I was quote $95.00 for a haircut. It somehow magically went up to $115.00, plus tax. I asked for a receipt, and, like the other person who reviewed here, the 'reception' got angry, and scribbled something down on a napkin! So this clearly a shady operation. The whole time they were complaining about the management of the hotel, and going on about their money troubles (not very professional). Also, it has become well known that when you make an appointment they ask you what you do for a living. What is the reason for this? If it's because they want to know who best to match you with as a hairstylist, it's dopey, because just because you work in a day job that's not uber-hip in their eyes, they have no idea what you're personality and private life is about. How many club kids do you know who work at jobs that are 'conventional'? This way of doing business really does border on discriminatory. Because of the unprofessiona attitude and practices, I would stay away. If there haircuts were fabulous, that would be another thing, but they really are not that special. April's fees are also ridiculous. She does much better with men, and she needs to be careful with the scissors during her 'performances'.

first of all, I have worn extensions for years, and everyone always tells me to take them out, until now. I went to suite 303 for a haircut and while I was there i noticed someone that was getting extensions and they looked amazing. So i decided to get a consultation with Amalia. It was less than what I was paying for, for what I had, so i decided to give her a try. It was the best decision. They look so natural its awesome. She had a special technique I had never seen before and the cut she gave me tied it all in together. now instead of my friends begging me to take them out, they all want them! thank you amalia for changing my hair!! I love suite 303!!
