Great experience all around

The desserts here are really wonderful, especially the soft cheesecake, white miso semifreddo and the avocado parfait...but we tried others too and they were honestly all delicious. The pastry chef isn't afraid to use salt, which is surprisingly important to bring out the sweetness and keep everything balanced. Each plate was full of intricate flavors without being overwhelming, and had a variety of temperatures and textures. The room is very pleasant and sort of soothing (a nice respite considering the bustling block it's on), and shockingly not crowded, so you can really enjoy your visit. They have cupcakes and lots of other to-go treats, too. Will definitely go back to try some items I missed.

Beautifully presented, definitely delicious

We started with the guava pineapple sorbet with caramelized pineapple topping.

We followed with the 3 course dessert tapas for $20. We chose the white miso semifreddo, chocolate marquis, and a poundcake dessert with a scoop of strawberry sorbet (I forget what it's called).

We added 2 cupcakes - mocha maldon salt caramel and vanilla yuzu lemon.

I don't remember everyone else's drink but I chased it all down with a mango lassi green tea (it came with sago pearls). This drink was the one disappointment of the entire ""meal"".

I noticed the menu on their website is a bit different than the one in the restaurant. But not by much. I would definitely come back here. This spot can be romantic or casual depending on who you come here with.

It hits the SWEET SPOT!

Where can you go and have a good cup of caffeine or a little sweet nibble without dealing with the stroller brigade? This place just hits the sweet spot for that need. Located on St. Mark's Place - this dessert bar has a sign board on the street level (don't blink or you'll miss it) and you have to go down the basement to enter a cool and dark chic interior with ambient music. But the real draw here are the desserts. I've had the Chocolate Mint cookie which was soft and delectable with a hot organic mint tea. (But I really wanted the Vietnamese Coffee ice cream. However, it was melted that day - too bad.) Total bill for that was $3 and change. The cupcakes are a must try and the Vanilla Vietnamese Coffee was heavenly and not too overly sweet as I paired it with a Hot Thai Milk Coffee. Total bill $4 for the cupcake and hot drink special (11a-6p). This could be a spot to detox from the crazy hipster coffee houses and the generic Starbuck's on every corner. Come on your own or bring a friend/date. Either way - the Spot knows how to tickle your sweet fantasies.

New Must-Try Dessert Spot

This ""Spot"" is too easy to miss. It is located in the basement of Pho32 and I swear I have walked by at least 20 times without noticing it. Today, I finally found the spot and it was a pleasant surprise!

I decided to go with the Cupcake with a Hot Drink for $4 special. Their cupcakes look delicately decorated and there are fairy dust on top! They have some interesting flavors such as Green Tea with chocolate, and Vietnamese coffee. I got the Green Tea one and it was AMAZING! Creamy and sweet Green Tea frosting with chocolate cake. The cake has a gel-like filling as well.

It costs $2.75 but it s definitely worth it! I also tried the Thai hot milk tea and it was creamy and sweet. I love this place!

Bad Spot!

I was super excited to try Spot. I loved the docor and thought I found my new dessert place...until the dessert/coffee came. First, the waitress spilled a whole cup of coffee on my husband...some splashing on me. After cleaning ourselves up, i dove into my dessert. It wasnt tasty, small portions, and over priced!! When we got the bill, I noticed we werent even comped a drink, or given a discount, or offerred to cover any dry cleaning expenses. All this place did was leave spots on my bag. This Spot sucks!!
