Good food, The Pizza is always very good as is their filet mignon burger which comes with carmaleized oniouns and a very good cheese (I forgot the name of it). Another nice choice is the gold's gym salad as well as the grilled octopus which is served on skewers

You should go to this place if you don't like good service, want to be scammed, and love spending the whole night hugging your toilet bowl and looking at what your food is like after you ate it.
We went to Serafina Broadway last week after a wonderful concert in Carnegie Hall. It was pretty late and cold, so our choice of the restaurant was dictated by the time it closed and the proximity to Carnegie Hall. Given that the place looks like a strip club (with portraits of half naked women and red lights on walls) on the inside, I probably wouldn't have gone there normally.
Well, we were not looking for a nice atmosphere at that time, but for some nice food. The menu looked good, with a few seafood dishes at a decent price. I got a seafood pasta which was their special that day. It was all right although some of the clams tasted kind of strange... My friend's portion of pesto pasta was kind of small.
After asking for the check, we first payed without looking carefully. We decided to pay with cash and left the amount including the tip so as not to wait for change. And then I decided to double check because it seemed a bit high...
It turned out that the tip was already included in the check, 17%, for a table of three... The waiter never told us.
But the experience with this restaurant unfortunately wasn't over with that. Two hours after our visit, I was knocked over with a bad case of food poisoning. I didn't sleep a minute last night, and really don't recommend anyone to repeat it. So avoid going to this place for the sake of your mood, your wallet, and your health.

I had a group of 25 people here awhile ago. I figured after some research this was the closest place that was kid-friendly to St. Patrick's. First they didn't have a enough seats for my party, eventhough the place was empty. Second, I had to tell them to take the drink order, eventhough it was included. Third, I told the waiter 3 time my order and he still got it wrong. On our pre-fixe menu, it says, one of our famous serafina pizzas to see its just one type of pizza, plain. To top it off, the dessert that was a kind of jello type was served to share. They just put a few in the middle of the tables and spoons, no seperate plates. I was so embarassed. They finally brought the plates out and my guests were sliding their desserts onto their plates. And then at the end, they added 20% tip to the bill and we left. I usually give more than 20%, especially for a big group, but the service was did not deserve it. I complained to the event manager, all she offered was a free meal. If I didn't enjoy it the first time, what makes you think I'm going to come back even free.

Serafina is right around the corner from my apartment. I often go there and noticed a huge variance in service depending upon the time of day. They get very busy during lunch and dinner but afternoon (a plus is they serve throughout the day, since they are attached to the hotel) to early dinnertime, they are very attentive. Food is good for the mostpart, and the spaghetti squash dish is delicious! Outdoor seating is fun too in the spring/summer/fall.

The worst of the worst!!! I have been to many serafinas around the city but this one is just the worst. My waiter arrived to the table , but he looked more like homeless than server!!!! He was highly pretending Italian accent what was so funny!!! I ordered Fillet minion but i received Steak, waiter told me that the kitchen is busy and to correct the mistake is going to take 45 minutes!!! I never got my wine and desert. When I was living I complained to the tall older gentleman who look like owner, but he told me: you should speak to the manager, I'm not in charge of that.
1 of the worst, if not the worst, dinning experience ive had in my life. the food is horrible, the waitress only showed up 4 times. once to ask for our appetizer, 2 for our lunch choices, 3 to bring the check, and 4 to get the check. i worked in hospitality/hotel management in nyc for 5 years(so ive eaten and been to the most upscale places in the city) never have i been so upset. me and my party of 4 decided the service so so bad we wouldnt leave a tip. the bruscetti was bad, the salad was bad, the cornish was bad, the staek and fries was ok, but the merlot was swile, but they charge like its aged, lol. do yourself a favor and save your money
A total dissapointment. The only good thing is that we were seated as soon as we arrived. But as soon as we walked in, the first turn off was the $1 coat check. If it's offered, it should be free. Next, once the waitress sat us down and took our order, the next time we seen her she was bringing the check and swiping our card. Not even a goodbye, have a nice day. I was with a group of 6 people, and only one person enjoyed their meal, they had ""Steak and Fries"". The traditional italian specials the rest of us ordered were way below average. Desert was also a mess. The way the busboy served the tea (as if it was a box of cigars) was the most exciting it got. Then when we noted the manager on the service, he stared with a blank face, not even a sympathtic response. I would never in a million years reccommend this restaurant.

I live right around the corner from Sarafina so I have passed the happy faces inside on just about a daily basis. Today, for the first time, I actually went inside for Sunday Brunch. The ambiance and decorations are nice, but the service was terrible and the food was mediocre. Sarafina has a pretty big reputation in Midtown west, so I was expecting excellent service. Unfortunately, the service was average to poor for NY. The bus boys came by at least four times during the meal trying to take away our food before we were finished. One bus boy actually took away my date?s tea cup before he was even able to pour the hot water in. In the same fashion, the waitress seemed to be bugging us constantly and didn't seem to care if she was interrupting a great conversation. And although the restaurant was just about empty during the late hours of brunch, she tried to rush us out. I had strawberry/banana pancakes, which were ok, but nothing fabulous. My side of bacon was overcooked.
This is an OK restaurant that has the potential to be a good restaurant if you happen to catch it on the right night with the right waiter. But beware; it is not all it?s cracked up to be.

I frequent the Serafina's in New York alot, however my first visit to this particular location of Serafina was awful! The service was slow, the waiter was unattentive (I had to ask for water refills each time), and worst of all, it was very unclean. Now I am not usually one to complain, but every piece of silverware and glass either had dried or wet food on it. My family and I were so grossed out we couldn't even finish our meals. Finally, I was waiting for about 10 minutes outside the women's room (yes, there is only one stall) and when the person was finished out comes a MALE WAITER from the restaurant. Definitely do not come to this location of Serafina. However, I would highly recommend the Serafina's on Madison and Lafayette.

I have dined at Serafina a handful of times at this same location and have always enjoyed the food despite the average service. I often take out-of-towners since it is a nicer restaurant but moderate prices it seemed to be a great destination. After this past experience, I will NEVER go there again. On December 2, I had 4 of my younger teenage cousins in town and wanted to treat them to a nicer dinner after seeing a 5 pm Broadway show. We had the server MONIKA at table 31 (I kept the receipt!) and have never been treated so rudely or ignored. We were seated directly next to the waitress station so it was not as though she could have forgotten about us, but would just walk by as we tried to flag her down. We never got bread and the water came out with our entrees despite our constant pleading for water and drinks. One of the meals came out 10 minutes after the others had which was akward. Needless to say, I will not be recommending this restuarant to anyone.

i will have to agree with most, this place is simply the worst. I came to this place since, like many restaurants look nice on the outside. I was right, the place has nice decor but very uppity staff. Very shallow I must say. Anyhow, first ordered cheese ravioli.. Literally they broght me like 6 raviolis $14. A can of Chef Boyardee brings more. I thought it was all a joke. Then since I was hungry ordered the roasted chicken which was burnt. Just horrible food. I just kept eating the bread. The bill, horribly expensive. I think this place is over rated and over priced. Its like a block from my job but WILL NOT go there again!

My pizza looked and tasted like matzo with some old caked on Ragu sauce and garlic salt on top and the caesar salad with chicken looked stale and pale to me with very tiny pieces of cut up chicken that may have been left over on some diner's plate and this was thrown on some iceberg lettuce. To me Serafina is a low-quality, petty restaurant where there is no joy in eating. However, the water was good and the server was nice. We ate at the bar so the server didn't have far to go as she was behind the bar and the food was handed to her. I hope the owners of Serafina celebrate their ability to fool the diners who eat there. This is definitely a place for tourists who don't mind spending a lot of money and not getting any value.
