I think my Persian Tuxedo son named Floyd truly enjoys going to Sandy's. Now mind you, he is a cat and there is good evidence that he doesn't really like me, or anyone else, unless there is something in it for him. When he knows there is something going on that might mean he has to leave the house he bolts under the bed. When he gets to the stairs he starts to screech. When he gets to Sandy's he mellows out and says ""Whats up?"" to the doggies and turtles. He comes home all pretty and clean and prances around the house like a lion (he gets a lion cut). Floyd, and I, recommend Sandy's.

I went to Sandys after flipping out about a $120 dollar pricetag in PETCO which didint really include much at all. I went to Sandy's and from the moment i walked in the door,it was like being apart of a big family. I met and talked to the owner, met the groomers and even the receptionist was great. Everyone is friendly, the place is clean and they treat pets with the loving care they deserve. I am so happy with them. The price tag was also great, they dont cheat you out of anything- I have been going to them ever since!!!

I went there yesterday as a new customer because a few of my friends had recommended the place. Well it turns out I had a terrible experience. I have a maltese and had requested they trim him up and not take too much hair off b/c it is winter. Sandy had said he was a little matted but would call me if she had to cut the hair super short. Well that never happend! when I went to pick up my maltese he was literally ""butchered"" they literally took the clippers and cut off all his hair! I can literally see his skin. They just didn't listen to my request and I will never go back!

I brought my 7 month shih tzu here today for a standard grooming. After a terrible experience with a place downtown, Sandy's was a dream come true. Sandy, the owner, is there all the time to talk to customers and provide that one on one service. The people at Sandy's were so nice, listened to my concerns because of the last place, and really took care of my puppy. The dogs are free to play and socialize and not put in cages, like so many other places. He had a great time playing with the other dogs while he was there and he looks great! The groomer was even able to trim the hair between his eyes which he is normally a nightmare about!
I will definitely be returning to Sandy's for grooming and if my dog ever needs to be boarded overnight, he will be staying here with Sandy's great staff!

I have taken my golden retriever to Sandy's and he came home with the most adorable haircut. He was well cared for, and I have seen the premises numerous times. Sandy and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and above all they love what they do and will care for your pet as if it were there own. Its hard to find a good family run business who offer so many fantastic services and I would much rather my pet be in their care than at another corporate chain, or even the groomers mentioned in other reviews. My golden will definitely be going back when its time for his summer cut. In addition to grooming, they offer boarding, etc.

first of all these people DogLoverIAm, enero and bill (bill is a former jealous worker who was fired due his lack of work and laziness and enero is his pet pig) dont own dogs they own a cat sandys place is nothing short of perfection all animals are very well taken care of and has been in the business for over 20 years none of the animals there have ever been mistreated all the workes there are kind a loving human beings unlike this filth poor excuse of a dog lover luka is an old dog who can barely walk on her own so how can she possibly harm another animal as for boarding the place is well maintained and none of the animals are caged unless told so by the owners the other groomer on located on 88 Street and 1st Avenue is well known but many come to sandys due to her rep of outstanding services =)

I have been a loyal customer of Sandy's for over five years; my little maltese goes twice a week for daycare and grooming every six weeks or so. Sandy's is a warm, inviting environment with very personalized care toward all the animals. Reading the review by the owners of the two yorkies, I totally disagree; we have always received the very best of care at this place. Sandy makes sure to customize her services to the needs of the dogs & cats coming in and provides the ultimate in safety and security for them. Her entire staff is loving and friendly toward all the pets and she prides herself on running a very sensitive and and professional operation. Her grooming is exceptional, the atmosphere is very welcoming and repeat canine visitors race to Sandy's with enthusiasm and anticipation of a very fun time. An exceptional find and a treasure for me and my little guy - and very highly recommended.

Sandy's is a real gem and an alternative to Petco's type grooming facilities. It's all about personal service. My dog is shy and does not like miggling with other doggies, so it's always a challenge to find the right groomer for him. And at Sandy's he would behave well and even seem friendlier to his doggie friends. He stayed there when we're on vacation too.
I found that Sandy and her staff / family really cares about animals. They gave us great advices on how to treat my dog. The cost is not cheap, but it's not unreasonable either. And you get 1/2 off every 11th trip there.

We used to take our pup to Sandy before she had her own spa because our extraordinarily shy/nervous dog was practically putty in Sandy's hands. We trust Sandy completely with our ""baby"" and urge anyone who has reservations about the alternatives to give Sandy's a go -- you'll love the atmosphere and service and feel reassured about the treatment of your pet.
