the poor service unfortunately overshadowed the good food. clearly ordered price fixe, wait staff brought out wrong order for one and full price appy and entree for the other. the main entree never came out for one in party. restaurant not busy so confusing why order was sooooo mixed up.

I live in Georgia and recently had an occasion to organize and host a gathering of a small group in NYC. We needed a private dining room so I went web shopping for the facility first and the food secondarily. This is when I came upon Rosie O'Grady's Times Square location. I called and spoke with the manager, Noel Leydon, and had a very positive experience from the beginning.
He worked with me to plan a menu within the budget parameters I had set and we came up with a fixed price dinner offering a choice of three entre selections. On arriving in NYC last Wednesday, I went by to check things out and absolutely everything was exactly as represented. Noel asked if we wanted anything changed. I asked for higher wattage light bulbs and they were changed within 5 minutes.
The service was impeccable and was overseen by Kyle, our head waiter and one assistant. The dinner was served and ready at the time requested. The Caesar Salad was chilled and delicious. Most of our group ordered the Norwegian Salmon and it was a 10 out of 10 for both taste and presentation. The portions were huge and it came to the table piping hot. No water glass went unfilled, coffee cup left empty and all of this was carried out in a quiet unobtrusive way with perfection. I have nothing but good things to say about Noel Leydon and his operation.
We hear the term ""exceeding expectations"" and Noel and Kyle went above and beyond in that regard. A wonderful evening in all respects.
Bill from Georgia.

The upstairs lounge is a diamond in the rough. You wouldn't expect to find a bar like this in the middle of Times Square, its very loungelike with two flatscreens, couches and jukebox. The bartenders upstairs are awesome, I go there often enough so they remember my name and my drink.
I go there for happy hour but also took my mother there for drinks before a show around the block. good place to go afterwards also.

Went there on a thursday while in town with my gf and had such a good time we went back on saturday and it was the same bartender Brian. He was an awesome bartender and a great chat. He was very busy but still found the time to talk about nyc. He gave us great ideas for our trip and recommended some great restaurants in the village. I would recommend going upstairs, very loungy feel with two couches, flatscreens and a jukebox. We didn't eat so i cant comment on the food.

I wish I got the man/boy's name. I just called to make a reservation for 10-12 people ($1,000) easily for them. He was soo rude. He kept rushing me when I asked him to hold on one moment to check the time and I asked him to hold because I had another call, and when I clicked back i heard him say ""she put me on hold"" in the nastiest voice ever. As if HE was doing ME a favor!...never ever will go there.. I even called the manager and told him his employee just cost him $1000.

My husband and I went to Rosy's after reading the reviews posted here. I was really disappointed in the whole experience. For the price of an entree you would not expect to be served frozen steak fries. We could have gone to McDonald's for frozen fries. For dinner I had the crab cakes and my husband had the fisherman's platter. My crab cakes were over seasoned and my husband's meal was average, he is the one who got the frozen fries and that was enough to ruin the meal for me.
The other BIG turn off for me was how close the tables were. We were about 3 inches (I'm serious) from the next table. If I wanted to eat with strangers I would have went to a Japanese steak house.
Our bill was about $120 and I wish I had spent it somewhere else.

Went to this place before a Broadway show with my boyfriend and parents. We had reservations and were seated immediately, got a nice table by the window. The food was good, service was good, restaurant was good. My problem with this place was that it was simply good, it wasnt fantastic or great, there was nothing special about this place. The bill was $140.00 for 4 people with drinks.

We had recently had very bad service at another restaraunt in Times Square so when we visited Rosie's we were hoping for a better experience. We were sat promptly and our server was excellent. He had even lived in the state we are from!! Definitely visit this restaraunt. Thanks Winston!!!!

I enjoyed this restaurant a lot. The booths were comfortable and intimate, and the overall ambience was casually sophisticated, if perhaps a bit loud. The waitstaff was top-notch, attentive and willing to give in-depth descriptions of menu items and tailored recommendations. Side dishes are ordered separately, but are large enough to share. I'd recommend the perfectly-cooked meat dishes over the somewhat mundane shepherd's pie. Dessert is a must, and the selection of after-dinner whiskeys is excellent.
