I followed Lennie to Rizza Salon because he's the best stylist in New York City! I would follow him anywhere. I'm glad he's with this salon because everyone there is very nice and helpful. It's a comfortable place and I would recommend that anyone get a cut, color or treatment there.

I moved to the West Village 6 months ago and was still getting my haircut at Bumble & Bumble. This week I desperately needed a cut and color and decided to try Rizza on a whim since B&B had no appointments available.
I LOVED it! The staff is super fun and the atmosphere is nice. And they offer water, tea and wine while you're there, complimentary.
Now I have been a B&B girl for cut, Fringe (LES) for color for 4 years, but let me tell you Rizza is my new spot! Angelo cut (from long to shoulder length) and colored my hair (blonde full foil) and did an incredible job. The cut - and I usually hate the way my cuts look at first - looked so good I made plans to get drinks after my appointment. I will keep going back until I leave NYC!

I hate to write something negative but I had a terrible haircut at Rizza and don't want others to make my mistake. I was hesitant to come to the salon and I sincerely regret my decision. I have long hair that I was clear that I did not want cut much...fine Angelo took off a few inches. However, it is not cut straight. The hair on one side is longer in the front and the back looks so horrible it is a disaster. Now I have to go to another salon to have this fixed. This place is a bit more reasonably priced than others in the area but don't take the chance! TERRIBLE!!

I've been seeing Angelo at Rizza for the past six months and I couldn't be a happier blonde. I've finally found the blonde I've always been looking for-As Angelo puts it ""a Swedish blonde not a Texas blonde."" The salon itself is simple and elgegant and has a fresh and laid back vibe. They really make you feel at home (wine, great coffee, anything you need!) I've been salon hopping in NYC for the past five years, highlighting for the past ten and have finally found my perfect color, favorite salon, and most reasonable prices! I can also book my appoitments online-super convenient! Thanks Rizza!

I adore this salon! The place itself is so aesthetically pleasing. It's so cute with the perfect amount of space. There's a little patio area in front. Everything is arranged so nicely- you instantly feel more chic when walking in. Once inside you are welcomed with great music, a friendly staff and your choice of a glass of wine or coffee. Then there's the service, I go to Tomas Soriano who is absolutely wonderful!!! I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair after seeing him! He straightens my hair perfectly and is a pro at a creating a classy but hip cut! The cut is so expertly done that when my hair grows out it just looks better and better! He is also a pro with color! Finally- top off the experience with the fact that its an ideal location- 1/2 a block from the 14 and 8th station- so for all you L train hipsters- this is a short ride away! It's always an excellent experience coming here- you're going to leave looking noticeably good!!!

If you're here, you need Jimmy Burgos in your life. The first time I saw him he was styling another client and I was so taken by his skill, I asked to see him my next visit instead of the stylist I was booked with. Good thing. I consider Jimmy an artist-- and what is great is he's down to earth and fun. I followed him from another salon to Rizza... I think I'd hike mountains to get to this man and his pair of scissors.
My hair is not easy largely because its on the coarser side of the spectrum (because I'm on the blacker side of the spectrum), and I'm just so impressed every time I get my hair cut, colored, blown out, whatever by this man. And I've seen him beautify all types of hair while tailoring looks specifically for each client. AND the Rizza Salon crew is cool, so why are you still reading this-- you should book an appointment now.

I have followed Tomas for about maybe 2 ½ years already. I was referred from my girlfriend and told me he was great. I’ve religiously been going to him ever since. After 15 years of disappointing stylists who never gave me a style I could maintain at home, I discovered someone who could.
Not only does Tomas constantly confide in me through every step of the haircutting process, he makes suggestions that I immediately take a liking to. Before I know it, he sculpts a haircut that not only enhances my natural facial features; he transforms my often lifeless Asian hair into a full-bodied sensation. To top it all off, he guides me step-by-step on how to style my hair and also gives me different variations on styles.
Tomas gives me a styling experience that should be a standard for all hair salons.
I’m ALWAYS loving my haircut after he does it. His rapport building opened me up to new possibilities with my hair.
Anyone wanting a compassionate and talented stylist MUST go see Tomas at Rizza Salon. Thanks Tomas..You Rock!

I discovered Jim Gaylord 4 years ago, and will follow him anywhere. I always leave an appointment with him feeling like a million dollars, but not overdone, or with some crazy style I'll never be able to pull off when alone in my bathroom. Plus he's a doll and a really smart, fascinating guy. And now that he's at Rizza, I'm a huge fan of the salon itself -- very comfortable, totally non-attitudey and super convenient to get to. Good music, too...

I had a really great overall experience at Rizza and believe me I've tried many of salons throughout nyc and brooklyn. Wine glass in hand, i was able to just sit back and enjoy this cozy and warm atmosphere. Also i had the pleasure of getting my hair styled by one of the most rad stylists in NYC, Alx Alvarez. I got to know that she is very experienced having done shoots for Rolling Stones and styled many celebrities. SInce my hair changing experience, I have never received more compliments on my hair than ever before. How original and fresh it was and how well it fit my face. I really love what she did and the focus she put into it. I would totally recommend this salon and definetly Alx!
So my friend got a haircut here, and it looked so good that I actually left Brooklyn to get one too. I ended up with Alx, who looked kinda sketchy to begin with, but she is the COOLEST hairdresser ever. None of that ""how about this weather"" nonsense. She's hilarious, I've never had so much fun getting a haircut. What I love is that she cut my hair so that it grew in well and I don't have to do ANYTHING to style it. I literally go to work with wet hair and it dries perfectly. Love her.
When you find a great thing you stick with it. David Lyle Jones has been cutting and coloring my hair over the past three years. I love his work and his down-to-earth personality. He always takes his time to make sure Im totally happy and look my best. As in the past, and again, I recommend him to everyone. His color is unbelievable and his cuts last and always look great. Some people say they are the best, he truly is. His move to Rizza is great because its convenient and comfortable. You will feel at home immediately.

I was referred to David Lyle Jones, not long ago by a good friend, I work in the fashion business so I am really picky. He is truly amazing! He did the most unbelievable work. Everywhere I go I am told how spectacular I look. I later referred one of my friends and David made her look the best I've ever seen her look. What makes him so special, is besides taking his time to explain what are all my options, he is really down to earth, and his work is up there with some of the best. Also, there is No attitude! Very important for me since, I've been to most of the best in the city. Without a doubt, I got way more than my money's worth. Rizza Salon, is one of those places you feel at home immediately. Go there! You will not be disappointed.

I'm picky about who cuts and colors my hair. Angelo Rizza gives me the look I want! Trained in Italy and with clients both in Boston and NYC, Angelo opened Rizza Salon, a cozy boutique setting where
you will always feel welcomed (complimentary wine, tea or coffee) and in good hands with classically trained hairstylists who offer current styles and up-to-the-NY minute edge. Angelo even plays cool music while you?re receiving your service(s). Rizza Salon is one of those great NYC finds that you just might want to keep your own secret. Make an appointment. Trust me. You?ll love your hair!

I've followed Jim Gaylord from West Village to Hell's Kitchen, and now in wonderful Chelsea over the years. He is absolutely a fabulous stylist, bar none. Everyone whom I've sent him came back so happy that they don't look back what-so-ever. His haircut always makes you feel so beautiful and he achieves the great effect with such ease and warmth. Rizza Salon also provides you the intimate environment in which you feel so comfortable and being truly cared for. I highly recommend this wonderful combination and you will not regret. You will just feel Divine! Enjoy the experience!!!

This review is specifically of Jim Gaylord, and in a more general sense about the Rizza Salon. Jim is the best colorist/stylist that I have ever been to and I followed him down from Hell's Kitchen when he switched salons earlier in the year. Never have I been to a stylist who could work such miracles with my hair AND style it so amazingly. He is also an expert when it comes to highlights and coloring. Every time I leave the salon after having a cut and color by Jim Gaylord, I feel and look like a million bucks! I would highly recommend him. And the salon itself is currently in a transformation process. I have been told that they are improving and renovating several features and since I have been going there, they have added many new fixtures. Rizza is a small salon, but that is fine since they offer very personalized service and you never feel ""lost in the shuffle"" as can happen at the larger, busier salons.
