I held my wedding here in June (Rialto Room) and everything was perfect! We held the ceremony in the outdoor atrium which had a really unique NYC vibe and the dinner/dancing were in the Rialto Room. The food was amazing (received nothing but compliments from my guests, even from some 'critical' family members). Though the restaurant itself is a little expensive I found the value for money for an event is exceptionally good for Manhattan. The staff were wonderful, esp. Oscar (Manager of that evening) and Rachel (Event Manager). They could not have been more helpful to us and our vendors. I have to think of another event to plan so I can throw it at Remi :)

came here w/ a friend after work and was thinking trying out the R/week menu. the experience started off rocky but got progressively better. first when my friend and i got to remi, the maitre d ignored us for a good 2 min trying to organize her menu stack and did not even greet us or anything. after she finally got her area organized then turned to us. i told her we made a resv. and we were seated. she did NOT give us the r/week menu but ONLY the regular one. Only after i inquired about it from the waiter did he bring us the R/w menus (not his fault, it's the maitre d's). the waiter was pretty attentive thru out the dining experience but i did ha ve to ask for water a few times... the food was excellent (had the beet salad and salmon - cooked perfectly). the dessert was nothing to rave about but nothing terrible either. all in all my friend and i had a good time...

One thing that truly stands out about Remi is the restaurant itself. It's very spacious with high ceilings and a huge floor to ceiling window that adds a touch of elegance and awe to the place. The food is equally as exceptional and everyone at my table easily cleared their plate - we had gnocchi, risotto, fish and a veal dish and absolutely everything was top notch. This is a great place to get the family together or celebrate something special.

I almost hate to write the review because I like this place so much and I don't want it to be too popular. The food is Italian and it is delicious. It is especially great if you want to eat something for lunch that is a little more gourmet, but you still want to do take out. Prices are reasonable, you can get risotto for $5.

My family is Italian (di Roma) on my mom's side, so suffice to say I'm a little picky when it comes to Italian Food. The service was immaculate (Alessandro and the rest of the staff were fantastic), warm, welcoming and very attentive (but not excessively so). They have a full bar, an admirably extensive wine list, and soda. The bread was delicious, the olive oil tasted earthy, and the food. My goodness the food.
We had the Polenta with melted Fontina, Tuna Tartare and the Scallops for appetizers. All to die for.
For the main courses, we had the Spinach Gnocci in a pink sauce (they were so fluffy and delicate that they just melted in your mouth), the Pumpkin Ravioli in a Sage Butter sauce (also light and wonderful as the pasta is made in house fresh daily), and the Filet Mignon (dear lord that green peppercorn sauce knocked all our socks off in a wonderful way).
We were so pleasantly stuffed from the meal that we sadly didn't have room to try any of the incredibly enticing desserts.
I highly recommend Remi for a romantic evening out, family celebrations, a classy dinner, work lunches/dinners/events or even just to satiate a foodie's longing for wonderful food, deliciously prepared, immaculately presented and wholeheartedly enjoyed through and through.

I rediscovered Remi 7 years after it fell of my radar. Wow, I didn't know that pasta could taste this good! I'm not kidding you when I say that I was delightfully surprised with every bite. From the apps to the main course to dessert: everything I tried was STELLAR! It's a rare & welcome occassion that I leave a restaurant in NYC thinking, ""wow, that was worth every penny!"" Perhaps more refreshing was the range of dishes. There are no complicated flavor combinations or frilly garnishes or overly structured presentations at Remi--just phenomenal food made with fresh ingredients. A great wine list to accompany the meal. And the staff if excellent. You guys should open one in Connecticut.

I travel between Italy quite often and the US and I stumbled into Remi Restaurant by accident. Wonderful experience and therefore the best ""accident"" that has ever hppened to me. Food was great and I particularly fell in love with the ""Vitello Tonnato"" and the classic ""Ossobuco"". Service was outrstanding and the GM, a nice gentlman from Milan, personally took care of us by offering suggestions, despalying a great knowledge of the wine list. The atmoshere was also quite intriguing and I felt I was back into my hometown in Italy for a while but with the addition of glamor and professionalism which we find in italy quite rearly.
Great 'cioccolatissimo"" a warm chocolate souffle' interpreted Italian style. Highly reccomended...

Just walked in (party of 3), no reservations, no hassle. Seating available after a brief wait which gave us a chance to grab drinks at the conveniently located bar as soon as you enter to the right. Happy hour specials available...martinis were delicious. The food portions are large - so mind what you order for appetizers. We had the rare tuna app, buffalo mozz/tomato app, portobello ravioli, lasagna, salmon and risotto special. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. No room for desert.

We were not from the area but were going into the city and needed to find somewhere to eat after the christmas show at Radio City. I was skeptical selecting a restaurant over the internet, but was pleasantly pleased with the results. Based on the reviews, location, prices, and menu I chose Remi's. Christmas in NY can be a crowd frenzie and I was nervous that the restraunt experience would not measure up during this caotic time of year. Not only did it measure up, it exceded my expectations. We were warmly greeted and seated promtly to a lovely table for four. Our wait staff were very helpful, attentive, and unobtrusive. They were readily present, attending to our immediate needs. You hardly knew they were there. Not once did we feel the need to request someting, they seemed to know what we wanted or needed (even before we did), there was no having to ask for service here. What more could you want? Our head waiter was excellent. We wanted a nice meal at a reasonable price and he senced that. He was very warm and friendly, he made you feel as though you were invited into his own home for dinner. He assissted us with wine selections, and menu choices and he was dead on with his recommendations.
Being a wine lover I was pleased with the extensively wonderful and very tempting wine list, but we chose a reasonable price selection and it was fine for our dinning purpose. Each of us ordered one of the pasta dishes. The pasta was light, just the right size proportion, served piping hot, and cooked to perfection. We all sampled each others and each was more delicious than the next.
I would definately go back without question! No worries here, good food, good people, good atmosphere, clean, efficient service....a great dining experience. Great job to the staff and chefs at Remi's.
The only FYI I have is that the menu on their web site is not exactly the same as in the restaurant, but it was very similar (food/prices) and all good just the same.

Food was good, decor fine. Lived in NY most of my life and was trying to make a show. Everything was fine until I tried to get my coat for 10 minutes before asking the maitre 'd to assist me, which he seemed to ignore my request. Waited 10 more minutes until my showtime to ask the maitre 'd once more if there was something he could do. His reply was ""Areverderchi this is NY get used to it"". I dine thoughout the city on a regular basis and have never incountered this rude attitude at any restaurant that I have dined. I would have to say I will never return.

Having read the reviews we were expecting an excellent dinner. The ambiance was fine, the service was fine but the food was a disappointment. The caprese salad was good but the pasta was heavy and salty and the gnocci was bland and coarse. Food prices were way above average for food of this quality. The nero d'avola was also mediocre. With many restaurant choices offering much more nuanced and flavorful fare at a better price we will not be returning to Remi.

With my family we were on a Saturday July 28, in Ew York City and our Concierge Steven Bagley from Four Season Hotel recommended to visit Remi, for an Italian experince.
First time eating at Remi. Charming and elegant Venetian Atmosphere: enhanced by elegant and professional service. I was truly impress for the food at Remi.
We party of four and we order to share eggplant alla parmigiana was delizioso, tuna tartar fresh and flavored with avocado and a plate of fresh Bufala Mozzarella and beef ripe tomato and beet salad withgoat cheese, all delizioso to start.
We choice thre pastas to share; cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe, strozzapreti with sicilian black olives and sun dried tomato pesto, gnocchi with chicken ragout and aldente schiaffoni with mozzarella cheese. Pasta was aldente and the sauce was great. We enjoy our main course my wife order Mediterranean Sea Bass , Veal MIlanese myself, my my other guest veal scaloppine with Mushroom and Veal Shank with saffron risotto. I do suggest Veal Shank - was cooked perfect. I do love Veal Shank. Many Italian restaurant they have in the menu, Remi is my favorite.
For dessert my rasberry chocolate mousse cake was great. The panna cotta perfectly made, the Tiramisu and Venetian Cookies.....what a great flavor.
Our sommelier was great for the peter Gary Farrell Chardonnay - Russian River Valley Sonoma and great red Cabernet Sauvignon Pine Ridge Rutherford Napa Valley.
Good Wine List with a lot of choice of Italian and California Winerys.
An elegant Italian host welcome us to the table and at Our server Ben from beautiful city of Udine, providing and attentive service.
I will certainly be coming back and thank you for the amazing ambience, exceptional flavors and attentive staff.

Visited on a Saturday night. Chose this resaurant based on reviews from this sight. Food was bland, nothing special. Nothing to rave about. Atmosphere quiet and boring, not elegant. Good service, but pushy sommlier. In general the food was just okay. Not what we were expecting, especially for the price.

Nice place for a gourmand to quickly stop in for breakfast. They serve illy coffee (iced if it's hot out), breakfast sandwhiches with lox, ham and egg bites on brioche, or a delicious fruit salad.
The lunch rush will depend on the weather, as this place has cute tables set up in a relaxing atrium to retreat to between the blocks (W53rd and 54th). The lunch dishes vary. The variety is nice however some days it seems to confuse the service and make them less co-ordinated - but they try... i.e. REMI-To-Go will typically have the lunch menu out during breakfast, so you can decide if you want any of the specials later - nice touch. However, I have had an occassion where something I wanted printed on the menu (a red beet salad w/ goat cheese) wasn't offered during lunch time.
All-in-all, variety around the office is always a good thing, the italian food is more upscale than a pizzeria, and the prices are nice. This example lunch cost me $12.00 :Pasta pesto salad with mozz, and cherry tomoatoes; Chilled red pepper puree soup (large serving), and a 500mL size of Pellegrino.

We were very late for our 6:15 reservation, but no problem. We called and the host said not to worry they would hold our table for us. When we did arrive at 7:00 (due to traffic) we were concerned that we wouldn't have time to eat before the 8:00 show began. This restaurant was incredibly accomodating. We had dinner and dessert in less than an hour and didn't feel rushed. The food was wonderful and the service was lovely. We would come back here frequently.

Last Night I visited Remi for the second time.
I was in NYC for pleasure and work .I was truly impressed with service and the food at Remi.
From a great Handsome and attractive Host to the table service, the food and the ambiance. Our Server was a young men Philippe from Montecarlo. The service was perfect and our meal wonderful. Tuna Tartare for my wife and Bufala Mozzarella with Florida sliced ripe Tomato, half pasta Cavatelli with broccoli rabe an sausage, my wife eat bucatini matriciana. The succulent roasted Rabbit the best in town and my dear wife ""La mia Dolce Vita"" eat Mediterranean Branzino both perfectly and rightly cooked!.
For Dessert we select Cioccolatissimo and Mixed Berries with Delicate Vanilla Italian Beans Ice Cream. and a plate of assorted Venetian Cookies.
The Wine List is well priced match with The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards 2006 with extensive variety of Italian and California Wine.
The beautiful mural of Venice Grand Canal and the staff operates like a well-rehearsed professional Broadway troupe.
Remi is one of the best Italian Restaurant in Midtown NYC.!
We Reccomended Remi for the true Italian Food and Service!

Remi is a very nice place to eat in Midtown. The restaurant is visually appealing with its beautiful mural of Venice spanning the length of the restaurant. The restaurant has a very nice selection of reasonably priced wines. The restaurant is straightforward and unpretentious. The proscuitto w/ melon was excellent as a first course place. The various entrees that we ordered in our party of 8 all received positive comments. The selection of gelatos is very good. We would definitely go here again.
