its the village

Good prices, good selection, staff is a bit who-gives-care. Maybe it's performance art imitating rebellious teenagers?

Great Coffee by the Bag

I often stop in Porto Rico to get a quick cup of coffee to go, or to get my supply of beans. They have a huge variety of fresh roasted beans, and many at a great value. They charge like $.75 for a cup of coffee if you bring your own mug, which is cheap and environmentally responsible. Their mochaccino usually is bad, and subsequently I dont really trust their espresso drinks. The employees are really lax, which is fine if you are not in a rush, but frustrating if you are. They also stock various coffee mugs, filters, pots, etc.

Good coffee but ...

Great coffee, selection, and prices, but staff can be so relaxed they seem to forget they're at work, and coffee weighing varies wildly. Better bring your own scale to the East Village location!

oooh la la

We love going to the village to buy coffee at Porto Rico. We LOVE mixing 1/2 chocolate coffee with 1/2 Orange coffee. A fine dessert with out the calories.
