I went with 2 friends who were in town visiting and staying near Times Square. We ordered a few drinks and shots, were chatting with the bartender, and having a good time (the shots weren't great and were pricey, and the place was fairly empty, but the music was decent and we were happy anyway).
The bar started to close, and we got our tab, and paid half cash half credit. Upon getting the cards that had been charged, my friends realized their cards weren't charged enough, and decided to do the honest thing and tell the bartender, Mark, the mistake. Without even saying thank you, he fixed the prices, re-ran their cards, and had them re-sign. I told him very calmly that I thought it wasn't cool that these girls had been honest and saved him from a $20 mistake and that he didn't offer them a drink or anything, and he rudely snapped back ""It makes no difference to me, and it's time for you to leave girls.""
We'll never go back to that bar, and I would suggest to anybody looking for nice, honest service not to go either.

stopped in for a quick bite to eat after seeing the tree in rockefeller center and probably won't go back.
the waitress was very inattentive - not that we wanted another drink, but she didn't come back to ask until we were done with our meal... the food was perfectly undistinguished, other than the steak fries, but that doesn't make much of a meal.
half-joked to my gf that a hot dog on the corner would've been a better meal than what we paid for here... but it's probably not far from the truth considering the price you pay to eat in times square and the quality or lack there of this burger and chicken sandwich provided.
in short, with so many other pubs and restaurants in the city, there's no reason to go here.

Pig 'n' Whistle was the best pub I visited while in NYC, hands down. The atmosphere was great as was the food. The only thing advice I'd offer would be to encourage the bar tenders to engage in a little more conversation with the customers at the bar, it would be a great final touch to the environment of the pub. Can't really think of anything to complain about when it comes to the Pig 'n' Whistle!

Dropped in here before a show on a recommendation from a friend and it was my 1st time there. My friend had the burger which she said was good and I just had drinks. It was normal NY prices and the bartenders were great! Always ready 2 get us another drink. There was arelaxed atmosphere with a little buzz around, we had fun though. I'll def go back again to check it out at the weekend!

Maybe tourists think this hell-hole is fun but no New Yorker in their right mind would have a good time here. Lousy service, bad food, drunk-filled bar, zero ambience, bartenders who leer at female customers. The Guiness is OK though. A must to avoid.

This is definitely a place I stop every trip. I love the food, atmosphere, cider beer and bartenders. This is a great place for a group to watch a game or for a meeting spot before a date. The seating area is kind of tight but the food makes up for it. It's a great place to duck out of Times Square and eat at.
