I have to say that last night I went to your restaurant and had apps and drinks at the bar. I know most of the bartenders however someone named Randall was serving us and said he just started.
He was courteous, attentive and I would welcome anyone interested to have a great experice go see him.
He truly is an asset to your establishment and deserves a raise!!!!

The most HORRIBLE after experience of my life! I wouldn't even give this place one star! I got the spicy tuna roll and I couldn't stop throwing up all night. Mind you, this is not the first time I've eaten sushi before and I thought this was a reputable place but it's not. DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET FOOD POISONING

I've been to the Broadway/Times Square location three times, and the food was very consistent- consistently delicious! I always order sushi, and last time I went, we ordered the big sampler with a variety of things that I hadn't tried before. The rolls are always my favorite, and the prices are very reasonable. This Haru location is a good sized restaurant, with a nice ambiance for a date- they have gold (XMas) lights going throughout the place. Cute!
I respect the journalists of the New York Times. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for their management, especially when it comes to customer service and billing. I have been trying to correct a billing problem since May. My billing had been done by credit card with no problems until then.
After several attempts to correct the problem with Customer Service, I wrote to Yasmin Namini, VP Circulation Department. That was July 28. I canceled my subscription and have yet to hear from Ms. Namini or her staff. I am still receiving bills. This problem appears to be stuck to my shoe with no satisfactory solution in sight.

When it comes to sushi you need to be sceptical and careful. This place is pristine clean and serves very fresh cuts. The crispy spicy salmon roll is the best I've had in quite a while. Try to catch it at happy hour 3:30 to 5:30 for the best value. Other times tend to squash the bankroll. But worth it. Fellas feel confident showing off here. The ambiance is quiet and classy and their sushi platters are sure to please.

We have been coming here for years before going to the theaters in the neighborhood. We have always been happy wth the quality of the sushi and service. Their menu is very basic but the food is incredibly fresh and reasonably price for the quality. It's not the most romantic restaurant but then again, what japanese restaurant is?
I highly recommend their spicy tuna and yellowtail sushi.

I eat at Haru at least twice a month. It's my go-to place for Sushi. While places like ""BlueFin"" are too pricey to enjoy regularly and cheaper places have awful non sushi-grade fish, Haru has a perfect balance of authentic sushi and decent prices. My girlfriend and I usually get the Sushi for 2, which at $54 isn't a bad deal.
The Sush is great. The yellowtail and tuna melt in your mouth, very delicate. The few entres that I did try were great too. The seared tuna was cooked just right and the sea bass was very flavorful. I have honestly never had anything I didn't enjoy.
Service is great, we're always seated right away and our orders are brought out in a timely manner. Some of the staff has poor English, but that hardly bothers me as long they bring me the right order. Why criticize people for their accents?
Anyone who isn't a fan of this place is really just nit-picking at small details. I have never seen a single fly here by the way. Not sure what that review was all about!

What would you do if you saw flies landing on the prepared sushi at the sushi bar? My 9 yr old daughter saw this and pointed it out to our party of 4, we all looked in shocked surprise. The sushi chef noticed us looking at him, saw the flies and attempted to shoo them away...why not remake the sushi?...
We also watched the waitress shoo away the flies when she picked up the fly sushi to bring to a table....I thought thank goodness it isnt ours...WELL IT WAS!!...THE WAITRESS PICKED UP THE ORDER AND WALKED IT AROUND THE SUSHI BAR TO OUR TABLE! Like I wouldn't notice!! Pretty ballsy behavior... I RESPONDED that I wasn't going to eat this sushi and the manager and waitress both seemed not to be able to speak English and didn't understand why I refused the meal! I was able to speak with someone who spoke English but none of the employees were Japanese. We walked out never to return. What an insult to try to trick a customer to eat something disgusting to save money!

I just got back from a trip to NYC and had to leave a review for this restaraunt. This is my first time leaving a review, I felt this restaraunt was worth taking the time to do so.
The staff was friendly, the decor was warm and welcoming and the food was GREAT!
I had the California Roll and Chicken Teriyaki and my friend had the Shrimp Tempura Roll. I am not an expert on asian cuisine, but it was the best I have had so far.
I was certain the prices would be outrageous(we are in NYC), however, I paid the same price I would expect to pay in my home town of Maryland.
I will return on my next visit to NYC.

You would think that a restaurant in the theatre district would have their pre-theatre dining experience down. Alas, that is not the case. I called the day of to confirm my end, so I figured they better have my reservation when I walk in. It wasn't. Ended up sitting at the Sushi Bar for a B'day dinner. Food was late and we left. The staff could have cared less!

the service here is really good theyre so friendly from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. The chicken teriyaki is tasty and the california and tuna rolls are good too. They put alot of tuna in the tuna roll so thats good for whoever likes that personally i had to take some out but better more than less. Great place, pretty inside check it out!

Great atmosphere, excellent service and the food is very flavorful. The Sea Bass is awesome and I am not a fan of fish. We make it a point to stop & eat there every time we are in New York. The location is great if you want to eat before the theatre. Well worth the money. You will not leave disappointed. I wish we had a resteraunt like Haru in Southern California.

The past few times I've eaten here have been very memorable and enjoyable experiences. Seating was prompt and service attentive/polite. The center of the restaurant floor has the best tables surrounded by the glowing candlelites, and pretty blond wood accents. Some tables in the corners and near kitchen are kind of on the dimmer side, something to consider if you like to see your food when eating.
For appetizers, would recommend the seafood spring rolls w/ green tea sauce...they came out hot and supercrispy. The sushi rolls are my favorite reason to stop by here. I ordered the crunchy spicy salmon roll. They give you plenty of salmon w/ lots of tempura flakes. It's good because it's not doused w/ mayo as many spicy rolls are. I also got the spicy tuna...and yellowtail/scallion roll- where the flavors melted w/ each bite. Cocktail menu is varied and creative. The Typhoon and lychee martini were mildly sweet, and comes in a cool flask so you can pour yourself seconds. Also tried my friends mojito..it was mixed well, and they offer lots of flavor variations. Iwould highly recommend Haru-Broadway if you're in the area, and have a sushi n drink craving.

During our 5 day stay in NYC, this is the only review I am taking the time to write. Haru was such a spledid treat. It was intensely reasonable - especially the cocktails. Their regular prices are $8-$9 for delicious cocktails. Their waiting staff for dinner was prompt and very attentive. Truly a 5 star restaurant. We went twice during our stay. A great value.

Hadn't realized that Haru was a NYC restaurant too (I'd only been to the one in Philly), but found this one in Times Square on a recent visit. The manager was the cutest thing ever and so sweet, and the fairy lights and bamboo branches (or whatever they were) were a great touch. Tried a bunch of appetizers (lobster mango ceviche + symphony were fantastic) and some sake. Different vibe than Philly but every bit as good. Highly recommended.

The basic sushi items and rolls are average. There's nothing wrong with them, but there's nothing special, either -- considering that, they're grossly overpriced. Most of the non-sushi items I've had are pretty good, though. That, plus the very nice ambience and the good bar make it a good place to stop by with friends or a date for a dinner or drink when you want Japanese food in a nice atmosphere. For these reasons, you'll want to pass on this place as a take-out option, though. Its best attributes are the ambience and location, which don't translate to the office or home even though the bill does.

I've had better Japanese food at a mall food court. First walking in the place seemed to have great ambience. However, after being seated literally on top of the next table (couldn't even fit between the two tables, I'm small) and then having to scream to my husband because of the high noise level, it quickly lost its appeal. After seeing the high prices I thought the food would be great and the sushi was very good. But the meals were terrible. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and my husband got Garlic Shrimp. My chicken was completely dried out and on the cold side and the sauce was not very flavorful. The one positive thing I can say is that the service was prompt, we got seated right away and the server was very friendly. I wouldn't ever go back. Way too much money for such a terrible meal.
