Moving Pros Inc- Long Distance Movers Only

Do not get swindled by this company. Stay clear. It have been over a year now and they have not refunded the advance amount of $742 they took from me to move my stuff. Neither did they honor their commitment to deal of moving my goods. Nor do they answer my calls or reply to my mails. They did not even respond to BBB complaint.

They offered a meager $232 for about $4000 worth of lost possessions.

What does it take to lose a queen mattress, queen bed platform, 5 large boxes filled with expensive clothes, ~20 pairs of shoes and electronics? How does one also lose an oversized carseat, a child’s playard, a diaper pail, a vinyl bag with photography lighting equipment, two comforters in bags, two curtain rods, two camping chairs, half a dozen shelves, a folded table and a poster tube? Just ask moving pros, they managed to lose all of the above, constituting a quarter of my small move – a one bedroom apartment minus most of the furniture, which I sold.

Even what they did deliver came almost a month later than their guaranteed delivery time. I have been very patient with them, even went through their lengthy claims process, and after 4-5 months they added insult to injury with their tiny compensation. They don’t care about your hard earned money, nor will they show basic decency with a remotely fair reimbursement.

Whether this egregious loss is from incompetence or dishonesty, this company should not be in the moving business. Michael, Tommy and Ryan will be nice and friendly on the phone, but they won’t find your belongings or even try to compensate you fairly. They will simply misdirect and stall, or ignore you altogether. It really is astounding that a company can “lose” so many possessions and only pay you 60 cents a pound for them.

They even invent a story about extra fees for a shuttle to bring the items from the 18 wheeler that won’t fit in your small street. But of course there is no 18 wheeler, the drivers told me they drove the 26 foot rented budget truck straight from the warehouse to my home. They even tried to give me a few boxes that didn’t belong to me.

My experience with moving pros has been, by far, the worst I have ever had with any company in any industry. I have started the process to officially report them to the better business bureau and other federal agencies.

WORST MOVERS ever (Michael Edward Howard 646-849-3864) was the person who gave me estimate. Moved from Dallas to NY, I was 7 months pregnant under stress of move. I was given estimate of around $3K. Pick up date was 2 days before my flight. Movers did not show up on day they supposed to pick up, they called and said have some truck rental issues so they cannot come and will come next day. Fine - Movers came next day, before loading into truck they started saying estimate is going up, surprisingly it was more than double of initial estimate, no change in inventory for a small 1 bed apartment (we packed boxes & all stuff). Whole thing looked pre planned, these guys ask when is your flight on a friendly note & they come just a day before or same day of flight so you are under stress and have no time to deal with stuff & just agree to whatever amount they quote for. Person who gave us estimate & promised the $ won’t change has’nt come into contact from the day of move. Other person contact from that point onward, and says oh that guy is new he did not know how to quote, we are going to fire him for giving this wrong estimate. ALL THIS IS A SCRIPT THEY PLAY WITH EVERY CUSTOMER.
During drop off, guys were high school kids who can barely lift box. My husband did major work. Movers did not even had a tool box to assemble bed or table. My husband has assembled everything. Finally two boxes were missing, mattress’s have dirt stains, book cases came broken, bed frame had all scratches. Man this was a DISASTROUS MOVE. Tip I can give is there can be little trust for the movers who actually come home look at your stuff & give estimate. I did claim for damaged items with CSI and they settled the claim for $81 which is ridiculous & said if I accept the $ I have no right to write a review about the MOVING PROS, which sounded brutal. I have not taken settlement $ just to write this review.

Do not use this company. We had a horrible experience with them. They underestimated the cost, took forever to pack us up, and then delivered our stuff one day late. It was a disaster. Several boxes went missing and they were extremely unresponsive when trying to get them recovered. We never got them back so I can only assume they were stolen. Avoid this company at all costs. All of our furniture was nicked up and the owners of this business should be ashamed of themselves.

Amazing service amazing company I would put them above Mayflower I do use Mayflower for most of my moves they tromp Mayflower because they offer much better customer service and at the end of the day their prices cheaper

Oh yeah, moving pros are definitely pros. I used them for my move and have no complaints. Got a fair quote. Not some low ball price. They explained everything in detail so I had no surprise. Thanks guys you are the best. Will recommend you.

This was a full throttle, action-packed move with a ton of boxes and furniture!! Moving Pros Inc did an outstanding job maintaining their cool and having a positive attitude the entire move!!! They were extremely reliable and didn't seem to be phased by the heavy work load!! They did a lot of work for a GREAT price. I expected a nightmarish price and service for the amount of stuff I had to move.. Glad it went over well! From what I witnessed, very easy to put your faith in this company.

I salute these guys. They were able to move us in a fraction of the time other companies said and for 1/3 of the price as well. For the distance traveled, this is commendable. Professional and well orchestrated move. I highly recommend checking this company out.

Just recently used Moving Pros Inc for an out of state move and they literally took care of everything. Extremely convenient for the price. They did not haggle on the price either which is refreshing as anything. I'm so used to dealing with companies that adjust the price last minute. The move went exactly as they described in person. Our crew was well mannered and got the job done in the allotted time. Very happy with the results. New home with our coveted things. Couldn't of turned out any better. Special thanks to Karl the owner. He called us after we moved in to make sure everything made it in one piece

Not to shabby. Have dealt with some good and bad movers in the past and these guys are one of the good fellas.

moving pros was the best. my sister lost her job and needed to move down to texas with us until she got back on her feet. her husband recently died and theres no way she could physically load a truck herself. we had a budget truck reserved and were looking to hire some labor for the day when we came across moving pros. after talking with sammy for a little we realized that it might just be better to let the professionals handle everything from start to finish. apparently not a lot of reputable companies will offer day labor so you get stuck hiring random people from craigslist. my sister has a lot of expensive items and craigslist people definitely weren't an option. after learning this we just decided to contract

Had a move down to FL. These guys took their time and did everything amazing. Will use them again if. Needed

moving pros was top notch! i crashed my uhaul driving from vermont to florida on i295 in NY. they towed the truck to a body shop and i was out of luck. i started my new job in two days and u haul wasn't really being helpful in getting another truck. i googled moving companies seeing if anyone could help and came across moving pros. i spoke with jon who did a really good job at helping me out. they were able to get to the body shop the next day and move everything from the u haul into one of their trucks. they had an expedited option and were even able to get it to florida in under 48 hours. these guys are a life saver. i wish i could do more than just write positive reviews.

decided to move some items from my primary home in Rye NY to my winter home in delray beach FL. I only wanted to move a few items and when i looked at the prices for u haul i was surprised. i did some research online and saw moving pros was offering a “snowbird special” for partial moves down the east coast. the guys quoted me at 1200$ for the shipment and a little bit extra for packing materials for my glass top table totaling 1300$. after all was said and done price didn't change and guys were great. i tipped them each 50$ and received my items in 5 days as promised.

I was referred to moving pros from an auto transport company i used twice before. the guys at moving pros did an excellent job. came to the house on time and had great attention to detail. unhooked my washer and dryer and even helped me with unhooking pieces of my hot tub (i wasn't transporting this with them it was going with a freight company but they still helped) all in all i was impressed with how friendly and professional alex and the guys where when they were at my house. matt told me things would go smooth and i have zero complaints. great job

A friend of mine contracted with moving pros to move their son out of his college dorm. they came with high recommendation so i called to schedule a move. their calendar was a little booked up but because i was flexible they were able to fit me in on relatively short notice. some things i did not know but probably should have- i didn't pack my TV or my glass table (which i was subsequently charged for). Craig never told me i had to have these things done already so i ended up having to pay another $50. i called his supervisor to complain and although he assured me craig did go over these things with me he discounted the $50 off of my delivery balance. The guys on pick up and delivery were very polite and professional. they packed everything and even helped move some things i was throwing out to the dumpster which they really didn't have to do. 3. i had a corporate move which means my company was paying directly for everything. sammy was really good about coordinating everything with our HR department and getting the payments directly from them (made my life much easier). When the guys arrived they accidentally dispatched two trucks but once we got through the confusion everything went well. i was originally pretty nervous as i didn't pick moving pros myself; my company did. i didn't get a whole lot of time to research them but i was put at ease when the crew got to work and was very informative as to how and why they were doing certain things. they packed my TVs and glass tables and everything was good. on delivery the showed up an hour late but other than that no complaints. my work assignment in california is temporary and i will request to use moving pros again when i move to my next location. thanks again guys- special thanks to carl in dispatch too.
