Overall
Excellent quality, price, and customer service

Three years ago a co-worker referred me to Magic Time when I complimented the beautiful job on her Japanese straightening. I've been going ever since and highly recommend them.

First, the quality of the work is top-of-the-line. Yes, it takes 5-7 hours (depending on your hair type and length), but that's because the owner is so thorough; she goes almost strand by strand, ensuring everything is done to perfection. It takes a full year before my hair has fully grown out and it's time for another straightening, and I continue to go to her each time.

Second, the prices can't be beat - not for that quality. I've been quoted much higher prices, sometime double, at other salons, probably because of their location or just because they can get away with it.

Third, the owner and her employees are very respectful (a rare occurrence these days). They are kind and gentle and actually listen to their customers. A few days ago, I got a manicure for the first time there, and I experienced the same kind of treatment. Even when the manicurist's cell phone rang while she was doing my nails, she took the call (which was clearly business-related) and then apologized afterward for the interruption. She also didn't try to sell me on other products and services (quick-dry, intensive therapies for dry hands, eyebrow waxing, etc.) unlike most other nail salons I've gone to. She also didn't chat away while doing the manicure - she was focused on the job at hand and respected that I had little interest in talking, but was still friendly and polite. The manicure was superb. Another plus - it was $10; less expensive than many salons in the area.

When I go to Magic Time, I feel relaxed and unpressured and know that I'm going to get an excellent Japanese straightening or manicure. I don't feel that I'm going to be treated with disrespect or be sold on a bunch of services and products I don't need or want.

I highly, highly recommend them.
