Good steak frites

This place is so easy and chill. There is no menu - everyone gets a salad and steak frites. Cute French decor inside and our waiter was very attentive and nice.

The salad was simple and had some kind of mustard seed dressing, which was pretty tasty. The steak came in this creamy sauce and it was yummy... not the best steak I've had but it was pretty good. The fries were so good... so good that they were gone in a couple of minutes. But I was happy when I realized that they serve you 1/2 your steak frites portion and then serve your second 1/2 mid-way through your meal... so yay! I had more fries. We also had a bottle of the Bordeaux for $21 and it was alright. Didn't get to try the dessert because we were STUFFED by the end of dinner.

This place is perfect if you're looking for a casual dinner but good quality food at an affordable price!

For Steak (& Fries) Lovers only!

I had dinner here last night and for a great deal of $25, I got a house salad with mustard dressing & walnuts, and 2 portions of steak and pomme frites. They give you your first plate of steak & fries and then mid-meal, the server comes over with your second serving of steak & fries! The restaurant is unique in that they don't have anything else on the menu but the salad and the steak & fries. So don't come here complaining and asking if you can get something else instead. And no, the fries don't come with ketchup and the steak doesn't come with A1 sauce.

We also ordered a bottle of the Bordeaux for an affordable $21. One thing that was weird was that our server let me taste my wine and then just set the bottle down and didn't pour the wine for us. However, I heard that their servers aren't supposed to pour wine for the diners?

Overall, the food was yummy and the fries were addicting. I'd definitely come back again. They also have a dessert menu but we didn't get dessert. Our server was nice and the atmosphere is casual. Think French bistro. It's a nice low-key place.

Paris' steak in midtown

For those who hate making decisions, this is the lunch spot for you. Known for their steak frites and only having steak frites, Le Relais has brought Paris to midtown. The waitress only asked us how we wanted our steak cooked and then wrote our temperatures right on the paper table cloth. We were given bread (butter loves beware- there is none!) and salad which were good. Then our steak was brought to us with crispy hot fries. Right when we were winding down, our waitress brought out the 2nd half of the steak which they had kept warming and asked if we wanted a touch up on our fries- more fries?! always! (did i mention no ketchup...just use the yummy steak sauce that is slathered on your dish). Since it was a group of women and lunch, the steak portions were perfect, but the guys may want to load up on deserts for a heartier meal in which case you must get the profiteroles- decadence on a plate! Very different type of restaurant, worth checking out.
