Very Rude Badmash

Very rude badmash man. Selling old second hand music like new. I buy online and get faltu maal from him. Then he say rude things to me. Paagal fellow. Do not buy broken and chipped stuff from him.

The only place to go for professional Indian Instruments

Went down to the L.E.S. to visit a new resturant and came across Keshav Music on E. 4th Street. I really thought that such a place did not exist in NYC. I'm from India and would take my tablas and harmonium back to India every few years to be serviced - but now I just drop them off at Keshav's! He's a Westerner so I was surprised to find he actually speaks a fair amount of Hindi and Urdu. His familiarity with the instruments and Indian culture is very unusual. Although like any other Indian music shop he does not offer written warrantees on instruments, I have found he really does stand behind what he sells and is often willing to tweak or fine tune instruments for no charge. One of my students purchased a Vilayat Khan style sitar and came back a week later and Keshav exchanged it for a Ravi Shankar style one with no re-stocking fee. No other shop would ever do that. His hours (by his own reckoning) are pretty irregular - so call in advance for an appointment if you don't want come when the store is closed.
