I had a birthday party in the back area of the bar for 35 people. My assistant called and booked it for me easily. I spoke with one of the managers, Greg, a few times to select food items and such. He was great! Accommodating and made appropriate suggestions. Everything was easy and I had options with regards to the bar tab. I had a dedicated waitress who was awesome and they let me bring in a cake with no plate charge. It was easy to plan, relaxing and casual but they definitely made sure I was taken care of. I go there with friends for dinner often and it is moderately priced, always has a Yankees game during the season, and it serves good food. The bartenders are always friendly when I go there.

It was pretty quiet when we stopped in, but I could tell this was the kind of bar I could feel comfortable in. Despite being on busy Restaurant Row and only blocks from Times Square, Joshua Tree was rather laid-back and chill. I nearly forgot I was in New York City. For travelers hoping to get in on the posh experience of the city, you may want to pass. But it you live here and are constantly knee-deep in crowds and trends, make Joshua Tree your new place. The service was pleasant, the drinks were well poured, prices were comparable and the simple appetizers were, well, simple!

We (s/o and I) love going to Joshua Tree for their Lobster special - $14.95 for Lobster, Baked Potato and Corn is a great deal! Then they raised it to $19.95. At first we were a bit upset, but we came back at least 20 times through the year. Well, last week we decided that we were craving Lobster...and were extremely frustrated to find that they had raised their price to $24.95!!! What?!?!?!? $10 in a years time? Come on guys. The Lobster IS really good, but portion size has always been a gamble - and the corn and baked potato that come with it are not what I would call spectacular. I was a loyal costumers for the better part of the past 15 months. The rest of your food isn't really worth a visit from a person who lives in midtown and is surrounded by great restaurants. Please! Re-Evaluate the price jump in the one dish that kept your neighbors coming back for more.

I love this bar. It's a great place to escape the times sq' madness. I came here one night just before the holidays and I was greeted by a very friendly Irish guy, from Dublin I think. The service was great and he made me a damn good drink. (Blueberry Cosmo). It was pretty quite when I arrived but it soon picked up. Although there was only one bartender, when it got busy he still maintained the same level of service and character. Flirting with me, two other girls and the cute russian waitress, I might add. Running up and down the long bar serving drinks and making sure everyone was ok. ""ye cool, ye need anythin'?"" -Hot accent! Later on, two of the ""regulars"" came stumbling in and as they we're sitting next to me talking to the bartender he introduced us and welcomed me in to their conversation. There's no attitude's at this bar, great place to meet cool people. I come to the J Tree every time that i'm in the city.
You know whats great, when you try a bar for the forst time, go in-even when it's empty-and then get ignored. 2 bartenders-3 waitresses-all hugging and talking to 1 regular, I'm the only other customer in there. Waiting...waiting...waiting. Finally! A drink-a weak-$8 drink! Never again. It would be ok if there was good music, i would have stayed on the hope that maybe they would get busy, but when the staff won't even make you feel welcome, and they are not cute to look at- BYE!

The bartenders in this place are amazing. Rob and Mike made our New Year so much fun! They we're great, fast, personable, and very attentive, the bar was packed but anytime we needed another drink we never had to wait longer than like 30 seconds. AMAZING BARTENDERS! and HOTT! soooo HOTT! It was so mush much fun, I can't wait to go back to the Joshua Tree!

I ordered the eggplant parm lunch special which oddly enough came with a side of mashed potatoes (they were good) however the eggplant was covered with a glue like mozzarella already midway through solidifying over the overly fried and dry eggplant. As I said it was inedible.
The waitress in an absolutely empty restaurant came over 3 times before our meal was served and then not until we went and got her for the check.
She did not ask why I had a plate full of food, I offered that it was terrible and she said, ""Oh, that's too bad.""

Joshua Tree was a fun place. We had a group of 8 and were seated promplty and had plently of elbow room. The place was not crowded because we waited until the theatre crowd left a little after 8pm. Huge TV's everywhere to catch the game but not so in- your-face that it disturbed the non-sporty patron. the drinks were great and the food was pretty tasty. The appetizer sampler was divine, the Calamari was superb!! the burgers were hso huge it was impossible to finish. the only problem i had at first was it was too hot in the place, but when i requested them to keep the front door open to get some air inside they accomodated with a smile. the place is two levels and everywhere i looked people were having a great time!!!
