ATTENTION: GIAN FRANCO AND VITO, OWNERS OF
GATTO PARDO AND THE LEOPARD AT DES ARTISTES RESTAURANT.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN;
I WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF THE OWNERS OF THE LEOPARD RESTAURANT AT DES ARTISTES THAT THEIR ESTABLISHMENT MANAGER BY THE NAME OF GIULIO IS INCOMPETENT, ARROGANT, NASTY, DON NOT SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH.
THIS INCOMPETENT AND ARROGANT GENTLEMAN WAS UNWILLING TO FIX OR TO ACKNOWLEDGE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT
REGARDING THE SERVICE (WAITER) ATTITUDE TOWARD ""LOCAL"" NEW YORK CITY UPPER WEST SIDE CLIENTELA.
MOST DEFINITELY ONE OF YOUR WAITER BY THE NAME OF ENZO WHICH DOES NOT EVEN SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH AND
DOES NOT EVEN KNOW TO DISTINGUISH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SAUVIGNON BLANC AND A GLASS OF BAROLO,
NEEDS TO LEARN TO SPEAK TO MY WIFE, LISA WHICH IN MANY OCCASION HE DISRESPECTED HER AND IGNORED MY TABLE!
FURTHERMORE 2 WEEKS AGO MY FAMILY AND I WENT TO DINNER AT GATTO PARDO RESTAURANT AND HAD A WONDERFUL DINNER
FOR MY 15TH ANNIVERSARY.
WHEN I HAD DINNER AT THE LEOPARD AT DES ARTISTES RESTAURANT LAST WEEK I WAS SEATED AT THE TABLE WITHOUT ANY HELP WHAT'S SO EVER FROM THE HOSTESS AND WHEN I ASK TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER MR GIULIO (MANAGER ON DUTY) WAS CONVENIENTLY SMOKING A CIGARETTE OUTSIDE AND WHEN I ASK TO SPEAK TO HIM HE REFUSE TO COME TO THE TABLE TO CLARIFY THE PROBLEM!
THE LEOPARD AT DES ARTISTES RESTAURANT HAS A VERY POOR MANAGEMENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL WAITERS.
IN ADDITION MY ATTENDING WAITER BY THE NAME OF ENZO WITH A VERY HEAVY ITALIAN ACCENT DID NOT TELL US THE SPECIAL AND WAS VERY RUDE AND WHEN I ASKED HIM HE SAID THAT HE DID NOT KNOW THE SPECIALS BECAUSE HE LOST HIS NOTE PAD!!!
AND HE ASK ANOTHER WAITER WHICH HE CAME OVER HIS TABLE TO TELL THE SPECIAL WHICH HE ALSO HAD A VERY BAD ENGLISH.
WHEN MR ENZO WAITER TOOK OUR WINE ORDER HE BROUGHT THE WRONG WINE TO THE TABLE AND WHEN I ASKED HIM TO CHANGE
MY WINE HE TURNED AROUND AND CALLED MY WIFE LISA A ""JEWISH PUTANA"" WHICH TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH IT MEANS
I WAS SURPRISED, IMPRESS AND ANGRY BY THE WAY I MR ENZO TREATED MY WIFE LISA. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER BUT
NEVER CAME OVER TO MY TABLE TO RESOLVE THIS HORRIBLE INSULT.
I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT AT THE LEOPARD RESTAURANT WAITERS ARE SO AGGRESSIVE, ARROGANT AND RACIST.
IN ADDITION THE WAITER TOOK THE WRONG FOOD ORDER SUCH AS, MY APPETIZER CAME AFTER THE MAIN COURSE AND
FINALLY WHEN I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER ""GIULIO"" HE CONVENIENTLY SAID THAT HE WAS SORRY AND THAT HE
WAS GOING TO DELETE THE APPETIZER, WHICH HE NEVER DID. AND REFUSED TO DO SUCH.
THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU SHOULD TREAT YOUR LOCAL NEW YORK CUSTOMERS. THIS INDIVIDUAL MANAGER GIULIO OR JULIO WHICH EVER IS NAME IS SHOULD DEFINITELY GET FIRE. WE WILL LET THE MEDIA AND LOCAL FRIENDS KNOW!!
YOUR RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT IS OUT OF CONTROL AND MOST DEFINITELY OUT OF HIS MIND.
THEY SHOULD BE VERY CAREFUL NEXT TIME TO CALL CUSTOMERS THE ""B"" WORD BECAUSE WE ALSO UNDERSTAND ITALIAN LANGUAGE AS WELL.
WHEN MY WIFE AND I DECIDE TO SPEAK UP AND MAKE A COMPLAINT TO THE MANAGER WE ASKED HIM FOR HIS LAST NAME WHICH
HE REFUSE TO DO SO AND NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE THE THIRD TIME EVEN TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS SERIOUS INCIDENT
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT FORTUNATELY FOR YOUR LUCK I WILL NOT PRESS CHARGES AGAINST THE RESTAURANT BECAUSE I FEEL
SORRY FOR THIS POOR WAITER AND WE WILL NEVER COME AND HAVE DINNER AT ANY OF YOUR ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN.
IN ADDITION I WILL LEAVE A VERY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON THE GOOGLE
AND I WILL CONTACT THE BUILDING-HOTEL MANAGEMENT
AT DES ARTISTES LOCATED ON 67TH ST UPPER WEST SIDE AND LET THEM KNOW OF THIS INCIDENT.
THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE IN BUSINESS AND MOST OF ALL
PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR GIAN FRANCO CHANGE MANAGEMENT IF YOU WISH TO DO BUSINESS IN NEW YORK.
RON AND LISA ROSENBAUM

Took a client to lunch here today and had a really first-class experience. Excellent food, attentive service, everything moved at a nice pace -- not too fast, not too slow. The restaurant is a little bit loud but not a big negative at all. I'd highly recommend eating here.

I am hard pressed to find an Italian restaurant in Manhattan that serves excellent authentic rustic italian food. Here it is. The decor is clean & chic and the food is flavorful & authentic. From the orangini you get with the bread basket to the baccala salad (who serves that anywhere except in your noni's kitchen!?) I was thoroughly impressed with the food. My entree was the codfish served in red sauce with olives, capers, onions, etc. It was wonderful! The dessert was unreal - we had a piece of cheesecake with dried fruit and a pistachio cover. Definitely will be back!

We start to go there few years ago and we love the simplicity of the place
They told me once that passion is their main ingridient
and i would like to add "" freshness"".
The fish taste of fish, no cream, no heavy sauce
The pasta are always aldente with enough sauce
Service attentive but friendly
Little pricy, but worth it

I've been there several times, for business lunches and family affairs, and it is a real Italian gem in Manhattan. The atmosphere has an elegant simplicity difficult to find now-days, the authentic Southern Italian food is done with heart using the best ingredients, and the service is superb. I could not recommend more! As a plus, they have a great indoor garden that makes you really feel at home. The wine list is done with knowledge and it offers great Italian pleasures at a reasonable prices. I highly recommend the fish of the day, ask for the specials, and the great selections of homemade pastas

We were sent here from the hotel with great reviews. The food was not that good. The place was expencive for what it served. They charged us eight dollors for water even though we requested just regular water not sparkling. The host who we think was also the manager was very rude. We very kindly complained about our meal, it was just awful. We figured maybe it was a mistake and could get something else. They spoke down to us like it was us who didnt appriciate good food. Offered us just plain pasta insted of something else. Spoke about us in italian behind us. I guess she assumed we only spoke english. Our waiter was kind and very funny. He was good at recomending wines. If it wasnt for him we wouldve just left. I would not go back and would not send our friends there. We travel to new york very often and send our friends to the places we find...they lost out on a lot of good buisness from us. We ended up eating somewhere else after since we were so hungry.
the truly Italian restaurant
where the food is simple, fresh and the service is very friendly but efficient
we go there everytime we are in N>Y> and we never disappointed
The pasta are the best, specially the lasagna and the scialatielli with seafood
better than in Positano
Great wine list

We went there 4 times for the best pasta with lobster.Little spicy, so fresh and so delicius
We also tried the Dover Sole, very simple, just with few drops of the best extra virgin olive oil and lemon,
and then the best meatloaf we ever tasted.
To finish the ""cassata"" cake better then in Sicily(and I am from Palermo)

this is the best italian restaurant in new york
We started with the ""burrata"" cheese from Puglia and was so soft, so delicius
We had also the "" lasagna "" with mini meatballs, some smoked mozzarella and buffalo ricotta cheese
the best lasagna i ever had
The ""rombo"" fish (tourbot) just simply roasted on the bone with a tuch of extra virgin olive oil and lemon was to dream about
the wine list is little expensive but with great selection
i will suggest it to all my friend
