We placed a large delivery order that arrived more than an hour later than promised. We called to check on the order several times and each time were told that it had ""just left"". The last time we called the manager told us it had ""just left"" and when we told him we had heard that 45 minutes ago he called us liars and said that nobody had told us that before. What kind of business repeatedly lies to customers and then calls the customers liars when called out on it? Safe to say we won't be ordering from here again and I strongly recommed that you don't either.

I waited an hour and a half for food that was not that good. And when I called to inquire about my order, the woman had a very nasty attitude. She didn't even offer to call the messenger/delivery person to find out where he was. Bottomline: if you're hungry and at work, do NOT order from here--you'll get your food cold and you'll be irate by the time it gets there.

I stopped in here with a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Fresh Basils is a traditional take on Italian food with plenty of regulars and an unpretentious, cozy attitude. Waiters are extremely friendly, decor is homey and comfortable and food is excellent! I don't know anything about the lunch menu, have only been there for dinner but, there are some dishes that will surprise you. The Pasta Bolognese, Penne Vodka and Jumbo shrimp are simply DELISH! Good wine selection and reasonable prices, I now stop by if I'm in the neighborhood.

I have been getting lunch takeout from Fresh Basil for seven years now. Always great food. However I am a little upset over the recent price increases. A Chicken Francaise plate is close to $20 bucks now after you factor in the tax and a reasonable tip. I don't mind paying these prices if I am sitting down in the restaurant for dinner. But they should consider having a separate ""lunch"" menu with more reasonable prices. I will still order from here occasioanly when I have money to burn. But instead of ordering say 5-7 times a month, I am now only doing it about once a month.

My daughter and I was looking for somewhere to eat, we first past the Fresh Brasil/s Trattoria, and then came back to it, the waiting time was next to none, the service was wonderful and the food was the best we have tasted in a long time.
Wonder place must eat there when in the city.

I have eaten at Fresh Basil numerous times and never encountered anything but good food and good service. The waiters were attentive to us. My friend and I had arrived at the restaurant and we still were waiting for 2 more members of our party. Our 2 friends didn't arrive until an hour later! We got there at 6:30 and stayed until 9:30 PM. Our waiter was great to us the whole time.

1 positive - their gnocchi & mixed green salad with balsamic dressing is excellent, the rest of the menu is just ok. calarmar was so so, sauce was cold. svc was terrible - unattentive & curt. waited for our bill long time - you would think they want turnover. pricey for this quality of food & svc. SUM IT: again gnocchi & mixed greens were best, otherwise try elsewhere

Not to far from Bloomingdales & the N/W/R 456 trains... this is a great place to sit and relax for some fine Italian cusisine. Priced moderately for Manhattan, I highly recommend this place for a nite out with friends, or a night out with your significant other.
