Though I've not had a problem with any procedure performed at Franklin Dental, the overall level of service and professionalism has been terrible....so bad that I recently switched dentists. On three separate occasions this year, they canceled a surgical procedure with less than one day of notice - on two of those occasions it wasn't until I arrived for my scheduled procedure. I also recently waited over a half hour for a scheduled cleaning and finally ended up leaving before being seen by the doctor. Despite these issues, I received no apologies or explanations. I recommend looking elsewhere for a dentist.

4 reasons to avoid this place at all cost:
1. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY
2. 45-MINUTE WAIT (WHICH I LATER FOUND OUT WAS NOT UNUSUAL)
3. CARELESS HYGIENIST - A ROUTINE CLEANING NEVER HURT SO MUCH
4. DR. YOUDEEM RECOMMENDED MULTIPLE UNNECESSARY PROCEDURES (WHEN RECENT DENTIST APPOINTMENT ELSEWHERE SHOWED NO CAVITIES OR ANY PROBLEMS)
Dr. Particia Youdeem uses the highest quality of dental supplies with affordible prices.
We've been lucky to have this great doctor who lets us have Hollywood smile and painless life. I do not understand why would others have bad experience. Personally, I like her clean office, great personnel . Thank you again for you service.
I was fortunate to found Dr.Youdeem. Not only did she promptly take care of my immediate needs, but she and her staff got me back on a program of returning to proper dental health and care. Her staff treat their patients with the utmost respect and courtesy, especially Medea.

I wasn't going to write a bad review of this practice...until I saw all the other comments that were EXACTLY my complaints. Wish I'd seen this earlier. Also, as a physician, the way Youdeem comports herself is an embarassment to the profession. Went here, explained to her that I did not have dental insurance and would be paying out of pocket and yet she STILL tried to get me to re-do my fillings and exchange them for white ones. Yes, they would be more attractive. However she tried to make it seem necessary--and when I explained AGAIN that I was paying out of pocket for this visit and would not be buying cosmetic procedures, she shrugged and told me to take it up with her secretary. She refused to see me at all unless I got x-rays, which I did. Then she made me watch a video about gum disease, the point of which is to sell you some sort of gum cleaning procedure. I have never experienced such a disinterested and mercenary doctor.

I was told by Franklin Dental that I needed a root canal and subsequently had them do the work in 2005. The owner told me she would do the work, but then switched me to an associate. He was very nice, but she had a terrible temper when I asked her about her promise to do the work herself. After 3,500 dollars worth of work, I thought I had done the right thing until I switched jobs, insurance companies and found a new dentist. He told me that, although the work was very good, the root canal, in his opinion should never have been done. Now I see all these listings on the internet about their work and do not wish this upon anyone. I really thought about filing a law suite, but really just hope that they go out of business.

A public health nightmare!!!
Filthy place and sketchy dental practice. The tray that holds the instruments was filthy and has what looks like years of dirt on it. I was about to run out, but after being given lots of novocaine and already have the procedure underway you're kind of stuck. During my procedure, which was a ceramic inlay that the dentist said I needed, the dentist (Dr. Youdeem) had to stop the procedure and wait at least 15 minutes, while screaming for an assistant to get her the necessary equipment. I've been there 3 times and ONLY to finish the work that was started. They put a temporary piece in so I had to have it completed. Each time I went I had a MINIMUM of a 45 minute wait up to an 1.5 hour wait. This was even the case when I requested and supposedly had the ""FIRST"" appointment of the day.
There used to be several more reviews online about Dr. Youdeem and Franklin Dental regarding insurance scams, recommending procedures that weren't necessary (especially porcelain inlays and deteriorating gums). Ironically, after calling the dentist last week and complaining about their subpar service and dirty offices (which they were ""Surprised"" to hear), I then informed them that I am not the only one complaining. They need only go on the internet to see at least 10 other complaints. Now those complaints have been deleted. Hmmmm. I already reported this dentist to my insurance company and the dental association. A public health nightmare!!!

I went to this place two years ago, and only now realized I could review my experience on CitySearch. I have actually considered complaining to the dental board about this place - what an utter scam. They scared me to death (Dr Youdeem), saying that my gums were in terrible shape and that it was essential that I have gum surgery. Thank goodness I listened to people who told me to get a second opinion-I went to a great periodontist who basically told me that the person who recommended dental surgery ""was out of their mind"" - it wasn't even close. And, the scraping they gave my teeth was awful, and the periodontist redid it FOR FREE because he was so disgusted with the care I received elsewhere. Not to mention that every time I went, I waited a MINIMUM of an hour. PLease, please stay away from this place. They give dentstry a bad name.

I was told at my last visit at Franklin Dental Health that a filling of mine was deteriorating (please note I am only 26 years old and the filling was only a few years old) & there was a cavity under it and I needed to get a porcelain in-lay, which I was told would be only partially covered by my insurance and my portion to pay would be $780.00. I was told that I needed to get this done within the next few months.
I found it strange that I would need such an expensive procedure because I had just been to the dentist 6 months prior and was not told that there were any fillings in my mouth that were deteriorating or anything like that.
So I called my insurance company to see if I could go somewhere else for a second opinion. I went to a different dental office and the new dentist looked in my mouth and did an x-ray, and he said ""You absolutely do not need an in-lay. They were trying to rip you off. "" Turns out I just needed a regular filling.

I agree w/every word the previous reviewer wrote. Here's how the place works: they get you in there by participating in every dental discount plan on the planet. Then, debil doctor enters and tells you about all the work you need and she doesn't just suggest it; she tells you that you NEED it. It take big cohones to just say no. All the dentists are FOB (fresh off the boat from mostly countries whose names you can't spell); they stay for a few months (very low pay) and then open their own practices or go (w/their clients) to places where they earn a living wage. Recently, I had an appt to have a flipper made (don't ask) and I was actually told that the dentist I am supposed to see had left the practice and there was ""no one to do it."" My cat (w/some coaching) can make a flipper mold. Oh, and get this: after she phoned me to cxl appt, a receptionist called to confirm the appt. I think Youdeem has reached the end of the line. No dentists, no patients, no nuthin'. Couldn't happen to a more deserving character

I go to the dentist every 6 months. At my last visit (May '06), I was told that due to a hair-line fr acture in my tooth plus tongue errosion, it caused an opening for food to settle in btwn my filling & tooth. The dentist working on my teeth at that time, was referring to Xrays done 6 months prior (Nov. '06), not Xrays done that day. She also told me depending on what was found after removing the filling, a porcelin in-lay might be needed, costing me $1200. I called the dentist office later that day and spoke to Dr. Youdeem. Dr. Youdeem wouldn't take any responsibility for the lack of attention her employee displayed 6 months prior and continued to say ""we're all human"" when I asked her for an explanation. I didn't necessarily think I'd get away without paying anything, but I would have liked her to review my case and see where her employee went wrong and admit it to me nicely, not yelling at me. Perhaps I could have paid the difference. I wouldn't have had a problem with that. Bottom line- she overcharged me for the in-lay, which I came to find out after seeing my claim online & having my dental insurance investigate further. She claimed the entire procedure costing $2456 (not $3000, which is what her receptionist claimed previously). I wouldn't recommend this dental office, nor Dr. Youdeem's services at all. It'd be in your best interest, including your wallet's, to go elsewhere due to Dr. Youdeem's shady billing practices.
