Some financial Assistance for Rev David Seremba Sr

Dear Administrator,

I wish to introduce to you my name is Rev David Seremba Sir retired Anglican/Episcopal Priest Turned 78 Years on October 30, 2010-Originally from Uganda. Currently I am retired here in San Jose California as a Permanent Resident of California State. I am a Holder of a US Green Card for the last 9 Years.

Unfortunately, I got a Heart attack and went through Hospital Surgery (Procedure) Twice and Doctors Opened my two Veins.

I have one more Vain Surgery- Procedure to go which is confirmed to be on December 29, 2010 at the Valley Medical Center –Main. Down Town San Jose California; to this point I appreciate the efforts rendered to me by the Doctors to reduce or stop my quick death caused by cardiovascular disease.

For the last 7 Years, up to this moment, I have been under medication for (Chest Pain /the High Blood Pressure treatment) and now under recovery. (Thanks are to God for his Miracle and Mercy showed to me)

Unfortunately, my wife a retired elementary School Teacher, and I, are disabled; she developed the disease of Arthritis and is preparing also for Surgery early next Year after her 71st Birth Day Anniversary on Jan 1, 2011

Both of us have no Pension Income; we cannot accept any job placement due to our inabilities. Since we worked in Uganda for most of our 22 years of service as a Parish Ministers, and one year in Germany; where there were no Pension Program by then we have been together in Holy Marriage for the last 54 Years and born Again Christians.

We have been supported by some family Christian Family and some of our children.

On top of this we have been helped by the State of California by “Medicaid” for Senior Citizen’s Program.

Because of some daily needs we need some additional funds to help us out of our urgent financial needs? During this critical and testing with many challenging times of our retirement as African American Residents.

SOME UNIQUE POINTS REGARDING OUR GRANT REQUEST OFFER: Why would a granter pick me instead of someone else? What sets me apart from other donors?

“ My wife and I are Senior Citizens, retired with no Income, yet with some disabilities while have served the Public in practical, physical as well as spiritual services as church retired Ministers for the last 53 years in life time of our calling full filled very well both in Africa and some few years out -side Africa, including the USA in the field of education helping placements of International Students in different Colleges and Universities in the USA and outside the USA-I worked as the President/Founder for a None-Profit Organization known as the "Ssanyu Youth Aid International" Completed my Mission & Youth Ministry successfully as unique personal efforts and achievements through which more than 250 students graduated from lower levels of 1st -12th Grades up to higher levels of BA to PhD Degrees in different Majors in different countries. Growing up near the Cathedral, and participating in some of it's ceremonies, I can say that not only is the Cathedral itself magnificent, but the grounds are just as magical. It is a sanctuary in the middle of an urban jungle. With it supporting buildings just as architectually detailed and the peacocks walking around the grounds, it truely is an oasis.

God is in the details. No where could that be more true than here at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine.

American Indian Thanksgiving Service

This is a special event held every year. We stumbled on a notice of it during a bus tour and came back. Very spiritual and very moving.

St. John's

Nice to see once. Can get crowded on the weekends.

St. John the Divine is a cultural mish-mash of art, music and poetry. The church itself is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world rivaling any in europe.

The Glory of St. John!

This magnificent cathedral is a must see for all that come to NYC. In addition to the regular Sunday services, there all many unique culturally & musically inspired programs held here. After a tragic fire in 2001, the famous gift shop operated by
the Cathedral in currently being reconstructed. So the patronage of all is definitely welcome & well worth it. A more beautiful & community oriented cathedral can not be found!

This church demands reverance. It is so massive and stately. A true marvel right in the middle of the city.

Absolutely Magnificent

Stunning and gorgeous! You must see a concert there. I saw a chamber music festival there once and was in absolute rapture, even though I am not affiliated with the Church in any way. Or if that's not your thing, just go for the complete shock of entering from the street, it's like you've crossed over into a completely different time and place.

Big and Beautiful

Not only will this be the world's largest cathedral when it's completed (if it ever is), it will also be the last one to be constructed with traditional methods. Look at the fascinating statuary around the main doors, it was all carved by local students who trained at the stone-carving workshop at the cathedral. Even in its unfinished state, the space inside the cathedral is awesome. I think you could probably fit St. Patrick's whole inside the main sanctuary. Go when there's an organ concert on, the music reverberates for minutes at a time.
