My sister and I went to Broadway Joe's before a play one Saturday night. We chose this restaurant based on their strong reviews from websites like Citysearch. We were horribly disappointed. The waiter actually forgot to put our meal into the system and we waited for 1 hour before being served (watching everyone around us get seated and eat before we did). While this may have been a mistake (understandable, they were busy), the waiter was completely unapologetic and when I asked to speak to the manager about a discount (pretty standard for that kind of mistake) he whispered ""cheap a** b****"". Now I understand that a waiter does not necessarily represent the restaurant itself, however the food was equally as bad as the service. I ordered chicken parmesan ($26.75) and spaghetti (which was not included and therefore cost an additional $8) and I got deep fried chicken tenders smothered with cheese (NOT worth $26.75) and the worst spaghetti I've ever eaten (absolutely unedible, covered in starch from being well overcooked). My sister ordered a sirloin and received (and had to pay for a filet mignon, $36.75) which was of mediocre quality at best (a shame for what it cost). Overall, this restaurant charged exorbitant prices ($3.75 for a soda, no refills) for a la cart, mediocre food, and the service made the whole experience exponentially worse. I will never put myself in this position again and suggest you avoid them as well.

Am a frequent theater goer ive know about Broadway Joe forever, but never went in. I have noticed the renovation and decocided to give it a try. What a surpise, the fried calamari was great, my guest had the oysters, very fresh. And we shared the porterhouse for two with a side of creamed spinach. Oustanding really. Good service, good food. And to top it off they had the yankee game ,so i was able to watch the game and i was in heaven. I highly recomended it when going to the show or any time in the area. Also check out the winelist, nice californian wine selection.

I've been to Broadway Joe's many times for lunch as well as with my husband for dinner. Its located conveniently in the midtown/Times Sq. area which is always a plus for business meetings and groups. More importantly, the food is excellent as is the service. I've never been disappointed. Great steaks and seafood, nice ambiance.

I took my family up to NY City to see a show and found this place on the Broadway ticket site. From the minute we arrived the service was awful. It is very confusing to find the entrance, so we attempted to go into a door that looked liked the entrance, only to be told we needed to go downstairs and see ""the girl"". We walked back outside and downstairs, found ""the girl"" and then were taken back outside and walked back up the stairs to the main dinning room area. Mind you it was NY in Dec and very, very cold outside! We were asked by every person who worked there if we had a voucher or if we were full paying customers. We all ordered our meals from the full price menu and were still trying to have a good time despite the already rocky start of the evening. One order was a medium well steak which came out looking raw. We asked politely if the steak could be cooked a little longer and it was returned burnt to a crisp. The steak was not editable at that point. When we finally flagged down our waiter, or guy who took the order and then disappeared, and tried to explain to him that the meat was burnt, he said ""Well, that is what you get when you order steak Meduim Well"". Our request to have the steak cooked longer made it's way around to the rest of the staff, because after that, our table was either ignored or the staff was very short and rude when waiting on us. The other steak order was the 18 oz rib eye, which was nothing but 18 oz of fat and leather. My order was the chicken ceasar salad which was editable, but really nothing to brag about. I asked three times to have my drink refilled and it never was. We asked for more wine which never came. One person's original drink never came. Thank goodness there was an $8 bottle of water brought to the table when we arrived. The upshot of the evening was when the waiter took $5.00 off of our order for the steak that not editable. If you are thinking of trying Joe's, I would skip it!

I wish we had consulted the Citysearch reviews of this establishment prior to making reservations. I've just now read them and felt compelled to join Citysearch so that I may share our experience. Herewith, my first review. Upon being seated, the maitre'd inquired as to what tour bus (?) we had arrived on. Well. golly, heck, folks we live on LI. Does that qualify? That should have signalled our departure, but, alas, we decided to stay. We selected from the fixed price menu, which may or may not offer the same quality as the regular menu. My husband ordered the queen's cut prime rib - medium rare. It arrived medium rare. Although flavorful, it, unfortunately, had the consistency of shoe leather. He also ordered a side of rice pilaf, which tastewise, was unmemorable, save for the fact that it was presented barely warm. The chef should have taken his cue from rice-a-roni. Now, on to my lobster ravioli in pink sauce. Again, the pasta was lukewarm. The pink sauce overwhelmed the pasta, which left me wondering if, indeed, I had ordered lobster ravioli. Sadly, there is a particular Italian brand of ravioli (found only in your grocer's freezer) which was more flavorful and much less expensive. My mixed vegetables, however, were presented nicely as a little bouquet with a nice crunch. Our son ordered an appetizer only - a shrimp and avocado affair - again, nothing memorable. My husband selected chocolate ice cream for dessert which, we all agreed, was the best item served - frozen and chock full of chocolate pieces.. The cream caramel (flan) accompanying my meal tasted more like a heavy egg custard. Traditional flan is usually served in a small, shallow bowl. This was presented as a wedge of pie. What better way to acccommodate the ""tourists"" than to produce it en mass.
Our family has been fortunate in experiencing some wonderful and memorable dining experiences across the US - sadly this is not one of them.

I received a 20% coupon with a pair of theater tickets. That was the good part. The restaraunt looked like a holdover from the gangster 30's.To get to the rear dining room required a walk through part of the kitchen.My wife's scallops had such an off flavor she thought they may be spoiled.My prime sirloin steak was ordered medium and showed bloody & tasteless.A shrimp dish, 5 shrimp was subbed for the scallops with the upgrade in price included.Our waiter disappeared and I had to ask for the check.A real rip-off.

I went to Joes Steakhouse this past weekend, hoping to enjoy a great meal with my boyfriend. All I can say is that the food with a disappointment. The steak was disgusting, I felt like I was eating in a dingy hole in the wall. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If youll looking for good food stay away from this place!
