Food is forgettable, prices are reasonable, owner is a jerk

We recently tried Brinkley's and had an amazing artichoke soup but an unpleasant experience with one of the owners (Anthony Maritignetti) and his friends. I was sitting with my little sister and her friend from college, waiting for our food, when Mr. Martignetti and his friends starting leering and crudely talking about my sister, debating whether or not she was ""hot enough"" to pick up. It was cruel. As a public figure, he should be as mindful of his behavior as he is about his menu.

Promising New Place

I'm suprised to read the other reviews here but we did go on a slower sunday night so I'm sure our experience was different. Our waitress let us know about their vegetarian dish for the night which we ordered. Needed a little salt but it was creative and filling. Maybe this is a new policy they've started. The entire staff was nice and friendly even though it was a slow night. I'm sure they have some kincks to work out but overall idea is there. I'll give it a shot again.

Had a great time, Good Food Great Place

I had family in from out of town last week. We brought the kids and family members to Brinkley's for dinner. None of us expected much but we were very plesantly suprised. The food was very hearty and everyone, from the kids to grandparents enjoyed. This place is not the old bar martignetti, it is the new brinkley's.

Delicious Food and Fabulous Service

After having a little bit of trauma with our first trip to Brinkley's (no vegetarian options and an unaccomidaing manager) we received an appology from the GM and decided to give Brinkley's another try.

Both the food and the service were incredible. The pate was DELICIOUS, as was both the vegetarian cranberry bean entre in a truffle sauce (who knew veggies could be so tasty) and the artichoke soup which was an awesome combination of a thick artichoke base and a french onion soup-like cheesy topping.

Prices on the menu are all very reasonable (an entre and an app will run you ~$25), and the foods are all from local farms and are incredibly fresh. The staff was also incredibly helpful and attentive.

As we had expected before our first experience at Brinkely's - this will become a regular spot for us!

If you want to meet high-quality men this is the place!

Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Brown, and so on. Laugh all you want, but I didn't go to an Ivy, and the next best thing to going to an Ivy is marrying someone who did. This place is crammed with good looking, smart well placed single young men. I mean this is a single girls dream, that is if you're looking for someone who can hold up a conversation, produce good looking children and support them and you,in style, and dance too! I met a guy just out of law school, gorgeous, could dance like P-Diddy, talk like a genius and the rest--well--was simply amazing. Bellas downstairs is where the action is. The drinks are cool and the food, well it's good too. But it's the men that make it the only place me and my girlfriends want to be.

Time is Precious

TIme is Precious and I regret stepping foot into this place. Waited on line for a long time to find out that the place is practically empty. Let alone I was surrounded by young girls that were very snobbish and pushy. If you like dark dingy places with people with fake snotty personas then this is the place for you...

I come here on a regular basis. Always a good seat and always a good meal. The Lobster Club and Chicken Paillard are my favorites. The Huevos Rancheros and Pancakes served at brunch are both great as well...

best window seating downtown

i had heard that the crowd was too sceney, and it was sceney...but why go out in soho in the summer if your not looking for a good scene, so deal with it. my friends and i sat in the front windows and drank rose and had great apps (tuna tartar, watermelon salad, etc.)... the food was great, altough the service was a bit slow, but whatever. i will definitely be back to check out the scene, and sit in the windows which have the best view around.

Overpriced, Bad Food, Terrible Service, Bad Setup

The food here was not that good. I had the duck (greasy, over-cooked, and too salty), my gf had the eggplant Martignetti (you could probably re-create something better than this with a jar of ragu and some fresh mozarella at your local food emporium, no cooking experience necessary). The prices are way more than they should be. I'd rather wait for a table at Balthazar's than go back to this place.

The service was just ok. The restaurant was completely empty and it took about 10 min to get seated. The food came quickly but our drinks did not, nor did they fill our water glasses up on a frequent basis. We always had to flag them down when they were near empty. The same goes with the drinks that we ordered, most places would ask you if you want another one but not here.

I once met friends at the bar in the basement. The bar isn't that great; it was way over-crowded. I liked the loungy seats though but you should expect them to be occupied unless you go there early.

Also, having met one of the owners made me not want to come back even more--not very friendly and a terrible attitude.
