A great stay last time I was here. Affordability with cleanliness. Really rather nice. One of the BeAkira team events was held nearby and we stayed for a great night.

This is an old hotel with small cramped rooms. The heat was broken (radiator) and the rooms weren’t cleaned unless you demanded maid service. The Stewart hotel managers were the worst, they were ignorant, unconcerned, unhelpful and unfriendly. Avoid this hotel unless your only concern is location.
This hotel should be a 3.5 to 4 stars. But for me it is not. In the rooms they don’t have ac. The room was very hot and they said to me to open the window, and also they brought for me an old and dusty fan. The table has a lot of dust. The linens was dirty and the room was dirty and smell dust. I was with family (husband, 3 yrs old son, and a 8 months baby) and we start coughing in the room because of the dirty. We couldn’t sleep in that room. It was very dirty. I’m very disappointed with this hotel.
Update - there is no update, no thief caught, no attempt to make things right. I have done more investigation on trying to reclaim my property that the hotel or their insurance company.... UGH!Great location but my wedding ring was taken from my room. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I make my living through travel and associated with travel and hospitality industry. Traveled half the world around. This hotel is a joke, it felt as if bunch of nomads sat down and started a hotel. Unbelievably terrible service, unhappy staff. Shower leaked, no breakfast when told there is, keys don't work in the elevator, is just a beginning to a disastrous stay. For your own good please stay clear of 24th street and 6th Avenue. In a nutshell it is a complete opposite to what you may expect to stay at a hotel.
During our stay, we have lost all valuable personal items from our room (laptops, iPads, headphones, VR, etc) worth around $10,000. The burglary was likely to have been committed by a member of the staff (key log has shown that one of them deliberated latched the door open) and the police investigation is still ongoing.Here are some shocking facts about this hotel:1. There are no CCTV cameras in the elevators.2. There are no CCTV cameras on all floors except the lobby. The reception assured us that there are cameras "everywhere" but that is a false statement.3. When the police were called and entered our room (the reception refused to call police), a member of staff quickly came into our room and asked the officers "Is this really necessary?" The officers told him "Yes it is absolutely necessary, this is a crime scene for god's sake!"4. The hotel employ temporary contract workers from a contracting company. This means you will see some workers once but might not see them ever again a couple of days later. It also extends the chain of responsibility so that the hotel management can effectively kick the ball down the road.5. Some of the contractors don't speak English. We've had immense difficulty explaining to one of the cleaning staff that our room should be left alone because the police still need to carry out investigation (there was no "do not disturb" housekeeping card in the room)6. The security is poorly managed and some stuff are rude. After the burglary, we wanted to change the room next day. The staff knew our situation but asked "What's wrong with the room, why do you want to change?" Really? Absolutely insane and rude.7. The rooftop bar could be better. Drinks are served in cheap plastic wine glasses, and the white wine I ordered was stale and disgusting. AC unit was so loud that it was difficult to hold a conversationUntil now, we haven't heard anything from the hotel and the insurance company they've instructed. Avoid this hotel.
Obviously, those who gave this place 5 stars stayed at a different Hilton, especially since the one guy referred to it being next to WTC. This is NOT that Hilton! This one sucks. There are long lines to get on the elevators, it's the only hotel I've ever stayed in whose coffee was more expensive than Starbucks! I bought two large coffees and a banana and it was $12! Ridiculous! To have one short laundered with them it costs $12.50. They don't have "room service". If you want something you can eat packaged overpriced food from downstairs. We bought a small fruit cup for $8. As if that wasn't painful enough, we got upstairs for my daughter to eat it and it was so spoiled it wreaked! The staff are friendly but don't care much about their jobs. For two days the maid forgot to leave toilet paper. There is no extra blanket in the room. There is no microwave to heat your food in, nor downstairs. And no coffee maker in the room! Just extremely disappointed! We wouldn't have stayed but the event we were attending made it mandatory for everyone to stay there! And to top it all off, we paid top dollar to stay there. $300-$400 pp/per night. I feel very cheated to say the least!
Didn't even let me know about deposit amount that was charged (I know it's just 80 bucks that will return, but I should learn it from reception guy, not bank account)Windows so thin, I could have understand people speech on sidewalk from 9th floor with windows closed.Thermostat was glitching entire time, but once the maintenance guy appeared - it's all perfect. No breakfast included - go fight through crowd outside or pay 50 bucks for uber.Dark hallways, can't see buttons in elevator and what floor I end up.If you just open Steam or utorrent on your computer it bans you from internet at all.I guess for more money, at the suite the experience would be better, but how can I trust the place after bad first impression
You simply have to see this hotel, if only to marvel at it from the outside. It's beyond the budgets of most ordinary folks but you can at least walk into the lobby and some of the restaurants and pretend that you are rich. There's even a portrait of Eloise!
Five star because after our mobile was stolen out of my hand while walking on the street, Victor assisted us with the follow-up.
