I moved recently from US to Romania. I chose Express Cargo USA - http://www.expresscargousa.com/ for a simple reason – they provided the best quote. I was in contact with at least eleven other companies. My contact at the company was Patrick Christopher. Once I chose Express Cargo, the other companies started a scare tactic campaign. “ … they are going to charge you later and is going to be at least twice as much… it is impossible to provide a quote that low, it does not make any sense, you are going to regret the decision … your things will be trapped until you pay more…” I have chosen to pack and load on my own, we kept the container over the weekend and I paid for a 20 ft container; so a 20ft container self pack self load. Guess what, the container arrived safe and sound, on time, with no delay and no overcharges. I am glad I chose Express Cargo. There was a snag at the port in Romania but it was solved quickly by Patrick it took one email from me, he replied promptly and solved the problem. The container was handled from the port by a Romanian company Orbit Transporturi Internationale - http://www.orbitromania.ro/, a company chosen by Patrick to handle things locally in Romania. My contact here was Liliana Burghelea. On a scale from one to ten both companies get a 10; no hassle no headaches. Here is what I think; happy customers rarely provide feedback, unhappy customers will always complain. I am one of the happy ones and it took me a month to provide feedback.
Dear Tony, We want to express our appreciation for your superb service helping us move our entire household from rural Idaho in the U.S.A. to a small town in rural Devon, UK in the spring of 2012. From our first contact with you via e-mail we could tell you were different from other movers. Your e-mail was intelligent, informative and personal. Your follow up professional telephone manner reassured us that you would be able to handle our complex move and at a price we could afford. The "local experienced" mover quoted us $5000 more and failed to follow up with us! You were always prompt and attentive in returning our calls and e-mails, despite being in a different time zone. Our container arrived on time as promised and we felt you and your staff walked us through all the paperwork requirements for our international move with ease. We were kept informed every step of the way as to what was happening with our goods. They arrived in the UK without any delay, no problem with customs, no extra charges at all and prompt, courteous delivery to our home. The local team in the UK were terrific and we felt spoiled by the excellent service we received at such little cost. My wife and I moved to Berlin several months ago and shipped our goods with Express Cargo. Initially, we were dismayed that over 20 companies contacted us after we submitted the information online, but slowly, each of them dropped off as we maintained contact with Tom who was helpful and informative. We finally narrowed it down to 3 companies , but it was their A+ BBB rating that finally convinced me. Although moving day was long, the packers did an excellent job and we were relieved when they were finally gone. While our shipment was in transit, the documentation department gave us the estimated arrival date of our container along with the contact info of the company that would be delivering our goods. The people at Active Moving in Germany contacted us before the container actually arrived and being prudent, I made sure everything was in place to avoid any complications. I’m sure I bothered them after a while, but I’ve never moved overseas before and was scared at some of the horror stories I had read about all moving companies in general. Thank goodness Express Cargo had coordinated some great companies to take care of us and looking back on the positive experience, we plan on using them to ship back to the US once my contract is over. I moved from Seattle to Spain with Express Cargo and was extremely happy with the service and condition of my boxes on arrival. I chose this company for their competitive quote for a partial shipment to Spain with boxes I had packed myself. The first person I was in contact with who gave me the quote was responsive the entire duration of my business with Express Cargo, regardless of where my belongings were at any given time. The paperwork and correspondence was simple and clear, even though I was moving internationally and they were dealing with my custom forms etc.. I encountered some wonderful people during my interactions with this company, especially the drivers of the trucks at pickup and delivery. My boxes arrived Nov 23rd in perfect condition with no damage whatsoever to the contents which included sensitive items like monitor, electronics etc... ExpressCargoUSA is a first class outfit that puts the client first. In an industry that in general provides a lot of lip service up front, I found them to be exactly the opposite, going above and beyond to help in a short time frame and difficult schedule. The packing service was second to none. This is the second transatlantic move I have made in under 3 years. This one with ExpressCaegoUSA was delivered on time without one damaged or missing item. Very much unlike my first move with a different company where breakages were abundant and several large items went missing. Oh, man! I just moved out of my parents’ house a few weeks ago for college. I remember my mom saying that I am now officially an adult and the first thing I needed to do responsibly on my own is get myself moving peeps to get all my stuff all the way to Boston. Geez…like I was going to haul all my things on the drive. No way, Jose! So, I went on the web and looked for moving companies. I contacted NY shipping, spoke with one of its super helpful agents, Ms. Valerie and I went for them. It was such a pleasurable transaction. And I’m proud to say, it was the first official adult decision I’ve done in my life and I was successful. LMAO!!!
They shipped our stuff internationally, and while it arrived about as intact as you could expect, it took twice as long to get there as they said (3 months!), and we ended up with a much higher volume of stuff than we'd thought... which means a WAY higher bill. They had some story about how we'd sent the wrong shaped items, and so there was lots of wasted space in the packages they put together, and maybe that's even true, but they didn't really give us any warning about this before hand... you know, when we could have done something about it. Would recommend you find someone else who has better customer service.
