my co-workers son that lives in NYC recommended Wo Hop. I took my mother and daughter last week while we were on vacation from Texas. We stood in line for about an hour, but it was well worth the wait. The price we a nice break from all the other places we had eaten at in NYC. Also folks in front of us had driven two hours to come have dinner at Wo Hop. They said they make the trip about every three months to get their Wo Hop fix. It was fun waiting in the line and heading down the stairs. The place was soooo small, but totally cool! I loved the pics all over the wall and intend on send one to them the Dallas Cowboys new home. We are use to the small little egg rolls we get here so we ordered two orders of egg rolls. Big mistake the rolls are LOGS!!! They were huge! We noticed the portion size on the food was huge as well so we shared. The food was awesome! The staff was fun. the check was small. It was by far the BEST meal we had on the whole trip. Thanks Wo Hop!
I love going here!! \\The Waiter John is the best!! They are so friendly there! most Chinese restaurants we go to.. they throw down the utensils at ya which is such an insult..Ok So I recommend this place for great food and friendly service!! love it!! this month I think I have been there 3 -4 times!! with my family...with our best friends!! it just rocks! especially the CRAB!!! hmmm we going back for my son's 19th birthday! oh yeah!
Oh so disappointing experience...it wasn't horrible but too many flaws for my taste.... service was ok, though not too quick, and food with lot of ingredients but cold and kind of greasy...also me and my boyfriend ordered same type of dishe (spicy and sweet) but dosage of spices differ greatly...mine too spicy and his for dietitians... Maybe somebody would like but I wasn't too thrilled
My husband and I visited Nom Wah over Memorial Day weekend (2014). It came highly recommended, and we waited in line about 45 minutes for a table (spend your time reading about the history of the parlor and of Doyle St.). It was definitely worth the wait. Friendly staff and great dim sum. Can't wait to take the in-laws there for a treat!
Had a wonderful brunch at Noho Star on Lafayette and Bleecker the other day. It was great - the pancakes with fresh fruit were beyond delicious. My friends had salad, omelets, all excellent. Coffee is strong and the various drinks intoxicating! A varied menu, friendly waiters. A must!
I know there was a shift in management for a little while, however this place is back to being my favorite place for Chinese food. I always make sure when I visit the city to order from here with my friends.
Back in the late 1950's would go to a great Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown on Mott Street called So Lee's. Remember owner telling me snow peas a great delicacy in China at the time. Great food.
I highly recommend Noho Star for breakfast. The food is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. One can linger, read the provided New York Times and enjoy the ambience.
Ordered beef/broccoli and friend ordered spicy beef szechuan w/vegetables and a couple of tsing-taos and guess what? Food and service were excellent; will come back again.
This place cooks some of my favourite Chinese meals. Last time me and my friends ordered online, and all I can say is that the service was fast! Thank you!
