He needs to tell customer that he is close from 12:00pm to 1:00pm for lunch
Allen Mavor is an ex-criminal that belongs back in jail. Every negative thing plus some is true! He is a Liar and Thief, do not believe anything he says, and never let him put a wrench on your bike! The Star is needed to post this message, Allen's true rating should be a Black Hole, to match his Soul. What a Dirt-Bag!
I brought my motorcycle into this shop and it sat for three months and got rained on. The shop leaked everywhere. One of his mechanics took the factory wiring harness off and wired it like a three year old. They scratched my air cleaner cover and dented my front fender. Performance parts were swapped for stock parts. This guy had a shop back in the 80s. He was busted for transporting and distributing cocaine and spent a couple of years in Federal prison. I was told by people who had bikes there that when his shop on the West Bank got busted the DEA locked it down and customers had problems getting their bikes out of there. Everybody was under suspicion. I know this because I worked there right before he got busted. I quit when I realized what he was doing. Best move I ever made in life. Went on the work in the industry for another 15 years and retired as an instructor at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix.I made a huge mistake thinking he had changed. Nothing this guy does is about customer service. It's about taking your money for shoddy workmanship and unprofessional service. Complain and he threatens to sabotage your bike. I have the emails to prove it.DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN !
This guy is a rip off unless you're one of his buddies. Don't trust him to do the work you ask him to do. He takes care of his buddies but if you're just an outside customer, prepare to get ripped off.He didn't do half the things he charged me for and swapped out my performance parts for used stock parts
Allen is a very experienced very adept motorcycle mechanic-he can weld very well-he repaired a sidecover boss I had knocked off(threw chain) by carefullybuilding up aluminum-on the engine while it was still in the frame-then tapping itHis employees would be adept mechanics-better and more experienced than the dealership mechanicsAnd they will charge lessCharlie O
Having known Alan Mavor for over 25 years, I can tell you that he is the most knowledgeable English motorcycle mechanic in the New Orleans area. Fortunately for motorcycle enthusiast in our area, Alan Mavor maintains a repair shop that is open to all of the public. Sometimes dealing with the public can become a very daunting task. My personal caveat would be that you go and talk to Alan yourself as opposed to reading disparaging reviews written by obviously less qualified people. He keeps my collection of 8-9 motorcycles running in perfect running order.
Allen has been handling my bikes for over a year now, he's great. He was easy to work with on the price (one job was a complete customization of a 250r I had), didn't need to be micro managed to get the job done, and contributed a lot of great ideas for the project. He was also able to get another bike of mine from another mechanic in the LA area who had kept it for over a year and done hardly anything. He's the third or fourth motorcycle mechanic I've tried in the area and my experiences with them don't really compare.I'm not really sure how clean a mechanic's shop is supposed to be to meet Josh A's standards but Cycle Care's also had the cleanest I've been in. I've seen mechanics operating out of barns without floors, in a half of a house jammed full of old parts, etc.I'm super surprised by any bad review since I've been dealing with him a lot over the past year. Allen's always seemed to know what he's talking about, he's always delivered for me, he's always been understanding if there was a problem, and willing to eat a cost if needed. He's never done anything to rub me the wrong way, I can't see myself taking my bikes to anyone else but him.
DO NOT bring your bike to this shop unless you want junkies working on your ride. The shop is filthy and unorganized. There are rusty bikes everywhere getting rustier thanks to the leaks in the shop ceiling. My bike has been there for 2 and half weeks to have the slave cylinder worked on for the clutch and it still hasn't been touched. The owner started a yelling match when I came to check on it and informed me that his mechanic had been in jail so that excuse was supposed to be good enough. I wish there was another bike shop nearby I could bring it to . I wish I could rate 0 stars but thats not an option
Very messy shop. Roof leaks all over bike and parts. Uninsured, unprofessional, and unreliable.
