I typically don't write reviews but this shop Tru Rootz deserves one. Not only did he take my call for a late night appointment but it was after he was CLOSED and worked on my hair until 1am. I explained a few problems that I had. 1) I recently stopped wearing sewins and wanted to wear my hair in a natural hair style. 2) I just couldn't style it and the next day at 9am I had a job interview. I called Tru Rootz and the stylist surprised me and he worked a miracle on my hair. I was very pleased on how my hair turned out. Tru Rootz is one of the best natural hair shops that I've been to in a very long time. I enjoyed the courteous service and the personal touch. This is a Class A shop , the man that gets the job done...and I want to tell him thank you so much and I did get the Job!

Tru Rootz is one of the Best Natural Hair Salons there is. Tru Rootz offer 6 Loctionist and 1 barber. All of them treat you family rather than clients and that's hard to find this day and time bc everyone is about a dollar. I was at point of cutting my hair before I discover Tru Rootz. My old salon was not professional at all, never on time, and wasn't hood with the hair keep up. A friend of mine introduce me to Tru Rootz about 3 years ago and ever since then I knew this was the salon for me.
My hair is very soft and thick and my old salon seem to not know how to lock my hair after 2 years of service. As soon as I started letting Bro. Cornell twist my hair, after 3 months it was locking and looking better than ever. I then fell back in love with my hair and wantedto get it done almost every week. Tru Rootz offer styles, braids, and many other designs I never knew u can create with dread locs. Bro. Cornell is truly a DRED LOCK DOCTOR. I appreciate the way he keeps his appts and how professional him and his staff are. TRU ROOTZ is the best!

As you can see in my profile pic, my hair is all natural thanks to the haircare that my stylist/specialist gives me on a regular basis. I've been a customer of TruRootz for over 3years now, an so has my son. The staff is very professional and friendly, and even have to pass a ""Natural Hair Care test and also wear their own hair natural to even work there. I highly recommend anyone that is in transition from chemicals to try TruRootz, im sure u wouldnt go any place else.

As the owner of TruRootz, I was very disappointed to hear about the type of service that received. We work hard to maintain our image, standard of quality and professionalism. We intend to provide the absolute best service to each of our clients. If there is an instance that a customer is not pleased, we strive to acknowledge and rectify the situation to satisfy our customer.
Our clients are valued and appreciated, therefore, it is disheartening to read the comments of someone who left the salon with a bad impression. Fortunately, this has served as an opportunity for growth and development for myself and my stylists.
I invite you to contact us so that we can have the opportunity to provide the quality of service that you deserve. I wish you the best on your natural hair journey! Peace

As tempting as it is to deliver every horrible detail of my experience at this shop, I just don't have the emotional energy. In short, I went there for flat twists. The stylist was 45 minutes late and she cut my hair off in the back. Apparently, ""transitioning"" in this salon means to cut off the relaxed hair. I still don't know how that could be transitioning because once that's done you're no longer transitioning, but natural. After much inner struggle on whether to leave and truly look a hot mess for an important event, or to stay and risk more injury, I stayed. The stylist ripped through my hair with a small tooth comb and didn't do my hair the way I asked her to. It was cute, but I was totally unhappy with the experience, my new two inch fro in the back of my head, or the stylist's idea that a $15 reduction in the price was sufficient compensation for torturing and traumatizing me.
