Awesome dinner

Went with family. A bit loud but food was worth it!! Great food and service but get ready to wait for a table. No reservations.

Taste Explosion!

Try the tacos. Each is a taste explosion. All the sides are special and house made. Very reasonable prices too.

Recommended: tacos a la carte & queso dip with chips

My experience of what a taco can be has been redefined.
An a la carte menu with several choices allows variety and can be combined to include a side.

I tasted the duck (great), curried lamb(good), cornmeal oysters (really great), shredded BBQ rib meat (great), brisket(good), plantains (good), and house corn chips(addictive, see quick tip) with white cheese (queso) dip (I loved it).

Hubby's Mojito was good, I didn't drink my Caipirinha (too strong, even with soda water added it paled next to the Mojito). The standouts were our friend's fruity rum drinks - the Rum Punch and Jamaican Me Crazy were distinctly the winners.

If you think of tacos as Mexican food - try these! They are their own category.

I work on St. Charles Ave. several blocks away from the Rum House and just decide to stop in one day. WOW! It was a really different taste, more exotic, and the service was also happy!
