NOMA is a highly under-rated museum. Their collection includes a broad cross section of paintings and art works by world famous artists, some of my favorites being Vuilliard, Picasso, and Monet. The museum itself is a magnificent building situated in a beautiful park setting, and has a great little restaurant overlooking the lagoon. I also love the way so many of the walls are rich, bold colors-- a great backdrop for the art work, different from the usual sterile white. If you're staying in the French Quarter, NOMA is only a short bus or cab ride away, and well worth it.

A jewel of a museum which gives any visitor insight into Louisiana's visual history. Plus decent European and Asian collections - a beautiful city park setting.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN THE SOUTH

If you've never visited NOMA, you have really missed a treat. The collections are amazing and broad in scope. The glass collection alone is well worth the price. Then add in the wonderful photography collection and the Faberge and don't forget the paintings, decorative arts, orientalia and precolumbian collections.
