Dockside Seafood & Oyster Bar

I live very near this restaurant, so I frequent it pretty often. I like to sit at the bar since I dine by myself and like to receive quick service. The last couple of times that I frequented the establishment, the service left something to be desired. But, Friday night the service was so terrible that I will never go there again. I was greeted by a hostess when I walked in a few minutes after 8pm. I asked to sit at the bar where there were three other patrons already seated, and the hostess said that was fine. There were two tables of patrons and three waitresses--so they were not at capacity. Upon being seated, neither the bartender nor any of the waitresses greeted me or ask me if I would like something to drink. The bartender talked with the other people at the bar, took out the garbage, placed new trashcan liners in the cans behind the bar, and then he went into the kitchen and talked with the cooks. During this time, I attempted to get his attention numerous times, and I waited exactly seven minutes while he did these other things. I finally gave up because no one had greeted me or asked to get me a drink. As I walked out, the hostess yelled out why is this woman walking out, as if I was walking out on my check. I continued to my vehicle, and a waitress followed me out and asked me why I was leaving. I told her the bartender ignored me for seven minutes and that I never recieved a drink, so I was leaving. I tolerated their over-priced menu because they were close to my house, but their terrible service during non-peak time is unforgiveable.

This restaurant has a great staff, great owners, and excellent food. I especially like the seafood gumbo, but everything I have eaten there is excellent.
