We enjoy our stays at the Cornstalk Hotel very much. The old style home adds to the effect of the way things used to be in old New Orleans. Do and will continue to stay at the Cornstalk Hotel as much as possible. We find the hotel personel very friendly and one is just around the corner from the fun on Bourbon street and the French Quarter. We have stayed at other local hotels in area and will not mention names, but they were disasters.

My sister and I just returned from here and were very happy. It is a little pricey but if you like historical buildings that are close to everything, this is the place. Yes, it smells musty...what older building in N.O. doesn't?? Duh! All of the people working there fell all over themselves to call anyone or do anything we asked. The upstairs balcony overlooks Royal and the carriages go by every few minutes, their driver telling the history of the hotel. Everyone wants a picture by the fence. Had a great time and large room with 2 dbl beds. Comfortable air conditioning! Would stay there again!!

when we checked in, after a 4 hour flight, we were not allowed to use a restroom, even though we were paying guests, and we were sent to the ""Brews House"" by the rude clerk--""you should see the bathrooms there!"" Avoid at all costs the rooms on the ground floor--extremely noisy. The fire alarm went off one night at midnight and sounded for 30 mins...all in all, a terribly run place, tries to be cute and homey but comes off rude and cold. Expensive for what it is.
