In response to the previous review, I'd just like to point out a few things:-Belladoggie has a gymnasium, but it is not set up for daycare, used for daycare, nor do people pay to send their dogs to the gymnasium - instead they pay for their dog to be outside-The "room temperature" for most dogs is in the low 50s, which is DIFFERENT from humans. Dogs' paw pads are not nearly as sensitive as our "bare feet" and thus being out in the 40s is brisk but pleasant for most dogs; many short-coated dogs come with coats or sweaters from their owners-During the Christmas rush, the facility is practically at capacity, meaning that the employees have to hustle to care for all the dogs, and the "lack of supervision" is abnormal and, most likely, associated with that rush and not what you would have seen had you been spying over your fence on an average day-During the hot season, I know for a fact there are "kiddie pools" in the yards for the dogs to cool off and splash around in, and when it is raining there is a covered area in the yards. Please don't neglect these facts when writing a review. -Dogs' parents spend money to make sure that their dogs are able to socialize outside, not sit silently alone in a room or kennel all day - if they wanted that they would have just left their dogs at home. Dogs bark! They play, they scrap, and they socialize! A hot or cold day or rain doesn't mean the whole operation gets shut down, but I know from employees that they do adjust their practices in cases of extreme weather. -The business is not without faults, but overall I have found it to be a place with nice facilities that takes care of the individual needs of your dog, regardless of any quirks, physical limitations, or attitude problems. The employees for the most part are nice, helpful, and trying to do their best.
Cheryl just has a great connection with pups. We have aggressive pups and she meet them...stood firm and in 5 minutes calmed them. I wish I could do…
Stopped in to check out harnesses for my dog. The girl that was working was extremely helpful and fitted each harness I was interested on my dog. She swore by one that connected in two places, I thought it would be too much work, but she put it on, showed me how(it turned out to be quite simple), and when I tried walking my dog around I was sold. She even stood across the store with a treat to really get him to pull and I couldn't believe how much control I had over him. Really helpful staff and they have some pretty cool toys for dogs too, when I have more time I'll definitely be back to shop around in there more.
MY DOGS LOVE BELLADOGGIE!!!!! Harry, my Great Pyrenees, has never liked day care or boarding. He likes to be home. He is an older dog and set in his ways. But after a couple of stays at Bella Doggie he is totally different. He get all excited when we get out of the car in front of Bella Doggie. He wags through the front door and greets everyone there like old friends. I feel so much better about going out of town now that I know Harry and Jack are happy. They truly have a good time at Bella Doggie.
I started going here about a year ago, after a really bad (dangerous for dogs) experience elsewhere which left me pretty wary. I worried for nothing. My dogs are so well cared for there!! They are happy to go in, they come home relaxed and tired. The staff know my dogs, and my dogs are always so happy to see them I know they look after them well. Gianna has groomed my dogs a few times now and always does a fabulous job, and always call if she has a question.
These guys are like family to me and my dogs. I have two dogs that frequent Canine Connection and we've been going for about three years now. The staff knows their personality quirks and even the brand of food they eat. When I pick them up from boarding I get a full report on how they played, how they ate and if they had any issues. My dogs get excited as soon as we turn onto Tchoupitoulas and when I hand their leashes to the staff, they don't look back.
