Some sports fans like to rock up to a bar and cheer on their team. Others live for the traditions: tailgating, party-hosting, and dressing head-to-toe in fan apparel. Here are so…
Attended the Preview Lunch at the Restaurant today. Of course, you would expect the staff to need some additional training, since it was the preview, but this was certaining not true. From the moment we arrived outside, we were greeted by a pleasant staff who were more than accomodatable. We started with two appetizers, Crawfish Cornbread (5 star rating) and Spinich Artichoke Dip . A salad was served , which I enjoyed, but some commented that they did not care for. Thereafter, we enjoyed the Shrimp Skewers, with vegtables and grits, New York Strip and Filet. Everything was cooked as we requested and the steaks were served sizzling at the table. Desert was offered afterwards, Creme Brule' , Bread Pudding and Chocolate Cake, no flour, with scoop of ice cream. My only suggestion was that silverware needed be served with the appetizers. The food was very good, staff excellent and the atmosphere was upscale but relaxing. The pricing seemed a little high, geared towards more of upscale restaurants.
The Rathbone Mansions are my BnB of choice. I live here in NOLA and when I have friends or family in town, I always have them stay at the Rathbone. I love the Rathbone because it is true to the Mansions period. It is rare when one can stay in a 165 year old piece of the cities history. I celebrated a birthday at the amazing pool side enjoyed delicious BBQ and stayed in a beautifully appointed historic suite. The things that I would count on as a constant are; (1) great rooms kept clean and true to period, so you can enjoy the history. (2) a truly amazing one of a kind staff, led by Pat. (There is no better ambassador to this city then she.) (3) yummy food and a fair rate. (4) if there is ever an issue, bring it to Pat and company, no doubt they will make sure to resolve it and keep your stay an undeniable pleasure.
As a native of New Orleans, I know how seafood support to taste & look, I know all about Southern Hospitality, but what I didn't know was about "Superior Seafood and Oyster Bar on 4338 St. Charles Ave. I was told by some friends to check it out. My husband & I went during a Sunday brunch, which was very busy to say the least, but the service we received was passed 5 stars; from the time we sign in, until we left, The person who seated us to the manager him self (John Michael Rowland) we were treated as a very special guest, While I was waiting on our food, I notice that the manager (John Michael Rowland) and the entire staff was treating every guest special, so if you want some great seafood, and want to be treated as some one SPECIAL; check out "SUPERIOR seafood and oyster bar". We shall return. (The McClouds)
In town on vacation. I called for a reservation and was told I could be put on the wait list if I could tell them when we would be there. Good thing since there was a long line that would have been ahead of us when we got there. Following our GPS to find Landry's, we didn't know the waterfront drive was only one way on the weekends. It was after dark and we got stopped by a policeman. When we told him we were from out of state and were lost he gave us a police escort to Landry's. Since this location is right on lake Pontchartrain we wanted to sit outside to enjoy the view and warm weather. Our server couldn't have been better. We both had Red Fish meals and both were delicious. The price was reasonable and it turned out to be a very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this location.
Two of my friends were in town from Denver over Labor Day weekend and my BFF, who's another local, recommended we all eat there after partying all night in the French Quarter. I ordered the bbq roast beef poboy with potato salad and a drink. The poboy and potato salad was absolutely delicious! I felt like I swallowed the whole meal in whole without even inhaling :-O. I was reluctant to try their seafood gumbo because after having homemade seafood gumbo from my dad's girlfriend, doubt anyone else can touch that. I will be going back to Gumbo Shop real soon and try something else. Hopefully their other food items is just as good as the bbq roast beef poboy that I had.
I have always been a fan of K-Paul's dinner service. Definitely a must when in New Orleans. I had a chance to try the new deli lunch service this past Saturday and it was equally amazing. Definitely a departure from the white linen dinner service, ordering deli-style at the bar was a refreshing change. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. I had the best roast beef po-boy I have EVER had. My friends had the Chicken and Audouille Quesadilla and the Fried Oyster Po-Boy and were equally as impressed. The price was perfect for lunch. I would definitely recommend the deli lunch and the superior dinner service to anyone.
When my two friends were in town from Denver for Labor Day weekend, one of my friends actually recommended we eat here. He's crazy about Mideast and Mediterrean foods. I'm not so much but I LOVED their food! The customer service is good too to say we went there to eat after 3 am. I ordered the fried calamari and my friend ordered a Greek salad it looked like and some hummus for us. Everything was superb! We even did the hookah and the hookah was super nice too. We had grape flavor ;). I will be making this one of my favorite local spots and will be back real soon :D. I highly recommend locals and tourists to try dining in here. Awesome food!
My two friends from Denver were in town visiting me over Labor Day weekend. We stayed at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans hotel where I ordered the half dozen of charbroiled oysters. One of my friends do not eat oysters but I kept telling him to try at least one because they were so good. I know good seafood as I am a native of westbank Nola. He tried one and loved 'em! Those were the best charbroiled oysters I ever had in my by far. Drago's is really pricey though so I won't be eating there a lot but it'll be a once a year thing for me maybe. My star rating is solely on my judgement of their charbroiled / chargrilled oysters.
Very well known, upscale restaurant in the French Quarter. It has a great menu which was not inexpensive but very well worth it. The food was most excellent. When dining out, I appreciate the food, the atmosphere and perhaps most importantly the service. The staff was friendly, respectfully and seemed to genuinely care about us enjoying our dining experience. I would give the atmosphere an A, the food an A and the service an A as well. I would definitely dine there again while in New Orleans and highly recommend it to others.
I visited the wine bistro for the first time on last night. I was in town visiting a colleague and we decided to take a "looksie". The crowd was diverse (which is important for me being that I am from a diverse city), the drinks were not "watered down" and go figure I was able to eat a wonderful meal as well. The prices were affordable for the portions and the ambiance was fantastic!! I will be back for Mardi Gras and I will make it a point to visit The Wine Bistro.
