This is an oasis in the dessert. A few years ago, I came inside from the noisy, busy streets to sit and listen to classical music and meditate on the beautiful painting of the ocean which hangs on the wall. Thank you so much for being there for me when I needed it the most.
Don't us Perlis for tux rentals. They have no quality control and you'll regret it like we did.
Horrendous service would be an understatement for describing this gallery. I had a poster signed by the artist at this gallery for French Quarter Fest and walked it over two feet to the manager to have them frame it. OVER 4 MONTHS LATER, the poster still was not framed. We called and complained several times and would never get a call back. We would always follow up and get told it would be ready in a couple of weeks. Finally, when they said it was ready, it had the wrong color matting and was not personalized like we had originally left it, but did have the same number on the print. Basically, they lost my poster which had the personalized message from the artist. Very shady activity going on at this gallery. I would not recommend buying anything here as the authenticity of items cannot be trusted.
My husband and I purchased a painting from Caliche &Pao Gallery on August 11,2012. We loved the painting, but wanted a street sign added to the street lamp. The street sign was to say,"Royal St.", (the street on which the gallery is located) and hanging from the street lamp. We were told by Ben it would be no problem to add this request, but it would take at least three weeks to process and would be mailed to us. The invoice also states this information. This was a birthday present to me from my husband as we were in New Orleans with our son & daughter in-law for my big celebration. You can imagine my surprise when we received it 2 weeks later without anything changed. I called Ben immediately to let him know what happened. He had to call me back as he didn't know just what to do. At first he told me to mail it back but when I told him I wasn't paying $100.00 to send it back (that's what we were charged for the shipping & insurance from the gallery) he had to call me back again. He then arranged for federal express to pick up. We re-packaged the painting in the same package it was received in.On September 20th we received the painting back. It looks less than acceptable. We can hardly read the street name, St. was not put on the sign after Royal, and the sign is hanging in mid air not from the street lamp. To me this has ruined the value of the picture. You might ask why I waited so long to say anything, because I have been so angry and disappointed I didn't know what to do. After the original return I sent an e-mail to Ben stating all the mistakes that had been made and that if we weren't throughly satisfied it would to returned for credit. His answer to that e-mail was they do not give returns or credits.
