Tobacco users aren’t the only ones who should be concerned about oral cancer. Oral cancer is on the rise. That’s why at Charpentier Family Dentistry, we provide oral cancer screenings as part of your regular-checkup to all of our patients over the age of 18.

Teeth Cleaning
Dental prophylaxis is a teeth cleaning procedure that thoroughly cleans the teeth. It is an important preventive measure to help stop the progression of gingivitis and periodontal disease. We recommend our orally healthy patients receive this teeth cleaning procedure twice a year.
Fluoride Treatment
Dental fluoride treatments are safe and effective in decreasing the amount of cavities in children. Dr. Charpentier often recommend fluoride treatments along with dental sealants, to protect your child’s teeth. Fluoride acts as a shield for the tooth’s outer enamel and can actually reverse early dental decay in some children.
Dental Sealants
Protective dental sealants are thin coats of plastic painted onto your child’s back teeth to protect their deep grooves and depressions from accumulating bacteria and food particles. Studies show that 88% of cavities in American school-aged children are caused by food and bacteria being caught in rear molars.
Space Maintainers
Your child might need a space maintainer if they lose a tooth early or have a baby tooth extracted. If your child needs a space maintainer, Dr. Charpentier will custom make it to fit your child’s mouth. It will keep the space open where the baby tooth was lost. This will allow the permanent tooth to come into place.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of durable porcelain that fit perfectly to your teeth. If your teeth are discolored, chipped, broken, or crooked, veneers get you the most perfect-looking smile with minimal shaving or contouring.

Bridges

When the soft tissue inside the pulp chamber becomes infected or inflamed, Dr. Charpentier might recommend a pulpotomy. Instead of removing the entire tooth, Charpentier Family Dentistry will put a medicated filling into the pulp chamber to try to keep the remaining pulp inside the tooth alive and healthy.

If you have an infected tooth, it is important to act quickly to treat it before it becomes abscessed, which can lead to other health complications.
