Bongrain Cheese USA is the American subsidiary of the French cheese manufacturer Bongrain SA that specializes in branded cheeses and is the world leader in specialties. The company is based in France but 50 percent of its sales are generated outside the country. Bongrain name cheese is present in more than 150 countries offering several hundred different cheese brands. There are several ways of classifying cheeses, according to taste, flavor, shape, consistency, ripeness, milk type, and water or fat content. However, the most common system is to group cheeses according to the manufacturing technique. It s possible to identify eight different types, corresponding to seven different manufacturing processes. The eighth category comprises ripened and unripened goat's cheese. Because tastes, food cultures and modes of consumption are very different from one country to another, Bongrain offers products that are adapted to the specific nature of each market.
