Shelley was born and raised in the Louisville area and obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and earned her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2003. She initially practiced in pediatrics for three years before making the transition to dermatology.
Family Practice
Melissa Davis earned her undergraduate degree from Miami University in 2003 with a double major in Zoology and Psychology. She then completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2007. Melissa was board certified by the American Academy of Physician Assistants in 2007. Melissa practiced family medicine in Louisville for 5 years before she began practicing in Dermatology in 2012.

Kara graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in 2004. In 2007 she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky, earning an outstanding student award and graduating in the top of her class. She is currently involved in PA education as an Assistant Professor at Sullivan University. She has clinical experience in orthopaedic surgery, emergency medicine, urgent care, and dermatology.

Dr. McCall graduated from Furman University in Greenville, S.C. before returning to Louisville to serve as a firefighter/EMT/ Swift Water Rescue Specialist with the fire department, where he worked for five years. He left his position as Sergeant with the department and received his medical degree from the University of Louisville, where he also went on to complete his Internship in Internal Medicine, his Dermatology residency and Mohs fellowship.

Mitzi is a native of Hodgenville, Kentucky and graduated from LaRue County High School. She attended the University of Kentucky and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. In 2000, she completed the Physician Assistant Program also at the University of Kentucky. Mitzi completed her Master degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2008, with an emphasis in dermatology from the University of Nebraska. She has worked most of her career in the field of dermatology and Mohs surgery, but also has experience in other surgical specialties, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. Mitzi is certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She resides in Big Spring, Kentucky with her husband and two daughters.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Everyone here is wonderful. Check-in, billing, wait time etc. was a pleasant experience. Dr. Timothy Brown performed Mohs surgery on my dad and the result was wonderful. He had an incision down the entire side of his face. I worried about scarring, but 2 months later and no one would believe he had surgery unless they looked with a magnifying glass! Dr. Brown is EXCELLENT !!! Dr. Brown was so patient and kind, explaining every step in detail. I can't say enough kind things about Dr. Brown and the entire practice.

I recently had a scar revision surgery done on my nose by Dr. Timothy Brown (for which I self-paid, because the original biopsy was not performed by staff with Associates in Dermatology; nor did the original biopsy indicate malignancy; thus, it was considered cosmetic).Associates in Dermatology has their own lab and it concluded the specimen resulting from Dr. Brown’s surgery did show a precancerous growth. This was surprising to both Dr. Brown and me. Had he not performed this surgery neither of us would have known.Dr. Timothy Brown’s expertise is unbelievable. From a cosmetic stand point, I’m so pleased! Also, he did the surgery in such a straight forward manner, with local anesthetic, and no antibiotics were needed. And remember, he was stitching on the top and tip of my nose. I also commend Robert, his assistant, for his hands on care and expertise.And since I was self-paying, I’m also grateful. I consulted a plastic surgeon whose price was more than twice Dr. Timothy Brown’s, and whose procedures would have included being put to sleep, a pre-op appointment and antibiotics. And I’m not sure if any further biopsying of the resultant surgery would have been done, because they may have totally relied on the first biopsy.It’s really hard to express how grateful I am for Dr. Timothy Brown’s services and for the Associates in Dermatology lab work. Thank you, Dr. Timothy Brown! And thank you Associates in Dermatology for your lab work.

Dermatologist Dr. Cindy Owen regularly treats my wife and me for skin care. Her examinations are head to toe while she uses a high-powered magnifying glass to examine each mole or spot of concern. I've incurred nitrogen freezing to kill spots and biopsies to examine suspicious pieces. Never a worrisome issue. Her associate, Dr. Michael McCall, performed MOHS surgery on a melanoma and the healing was perfect after 12 months, which is typical. This is an excellent practice that also hosts a detailed-oriented support staff. They get my highest recommendation.
