I just called the number provided , recorded message "this is Medwest cut peck" really hard to tell if I was calling "Stylin Irish" so I didn't leave a message. Really would prefer having a person answer the phone....trying a different salon
I asked for about an inch off my length and layering to be put in, my stylist, Tyler, did put in layers... Or should I say "layer" and he managed to cut off about 4" off of my length. He flat ironed my hair so well that it didnt show and He did not show me the back of my hair before I left so I left none the wiser. The next day I had my wedding hair trial, I hadn't styled my hair from the cut to the trial so little did I know what had happened. My hair stylist then had to cut another 4" off my poor hair to try to salvage it. He had cut it uneven, chunks were missing from sections, it was just awful. I have been growing my hair out for 8 years and get a regular trim, but because of this butcher job, I am not not able to have my hair styled the way I wanted for my wedding in 3 weeks. The salon manager did not act like they were really that interested in making up for this stylists lack of care. I was refunded but that doesn't make up for me losing over 8" of hair right before my wedding. The manager did not even ask for a picture or ask if there was anything else they could do for me. Their lack of care for what has happened to me is unprofessional and uncaring. My 4 year old nephew could have done better with his eyes closed. It took 8 years to get to this length, It took him an hour and a half to destroy it. I would avoid this salon at all costs. They don't seem to care about what happened or the actions of their employee. After I posted a review on their facebook page, the stylist claimed I was a liar and that he didn't do that to my hair.After posting my review and being called a liar by the stylist, he then PM'd me threatening that if I didn't take down my review from all the sites, that he would press charges for libel and harassment.. then, the owners of the salon said they fully back up their stylists work, still gave no apology, then deleted my review, reported it to facebook and blocked me. So I am very happy to know that they cannot do the same on YELP. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
My stylist was megan and she was great about discussing my color and cut. She listened to what I wanted and disvussed with another stylist for a second opinion and we went forward from there. Highlights came out a lil light due to my hair so she offered to add color at no charge . Price was below what I thought it would be and salon in general was very pleasant and relaxing. My daughter was with me and she was also treated very nicely and was comfortable while she waited. Im 5 mo. Pregnant with my 4th daughter and she def. Made me feel great about myself just the thing I needed. Thankyou so much megan I will def. Come back for further service :-)
I'm not sure how this place could change anywhere near horrible because from what I remember with salons like Girlfriends, Strands, ect... once a stylist is set up in an environment like these salons then their set with their clients and aren't trying to up their booth for anything. No one likes starting over. I moved away from the area that's the only reason I haven't been back for a couple of years. But this salon was one of the friendlier salons and definitely one of the more nursing momma friendly. No one made one rude comment when my infant got hungry, my husband brought our son into the salon and said he's hungry and I had more help getting my baby under my cape and latched on then I did at the hospital, lol. These women we're amazing and they fixed my horrible box color two tone mess-up perfectly. Thanks ladies
I went into Girlfriends Salon to get my sons haircut. They did a horrible job and when I ask to her to even up the hairline she had to get someone else to do it correctly. I took my daughter there a few months later to get her hair done for her school pictures and by the time her pictures were takin 1 hour later her hair was a matted mess. I'm not sure who's supplying the licenses for these hair dressers but they definantly need to focus on their continuing education hours especially since they offer 10 dollar haircuts. I guess you get what you pay for with Girlfriends Salon. If you want a deceit haircut or style I would say pick somewhere else.

RUN RUN RUN ,horrible, most unprofessional salon I've ever dealt with!!! I wish I could give this place a negative zero!!! I too found the deal on GROUPON . Prior to scheduling I had a conversation with Mandi (the owner) confirming the details of the appointment, she did ask that I pay cash on the spot instead of purchasing the GROUPON because GROUPON takes a portion of their money if I book thru them...found that to be interesting (why would you promote on a site if you don't like the way they operate) however she was nice over the phone, had a professional tone so I agreed & scheduled my appointment for a deluxe spa party for the following week at 6PM. The day of I spoke & text with Mandi & she said everything was still on schedule. I get a text at 6:00 saying she was stuck in traffic...6:15 another text that traffic is bad & she will on be able to only do part of the services since she was running so behind. Then at 6:35 she sends a text saying she can't make it for personal reasons. I had friends visiting from out of town & we were all excited and expecting to have a good time. I called right after the text & she never answered or called back....what type of person cancels the day of AFTER the scheduled time via TEXT???!!! What a COWARD!! Please do yourself a favor & DO NOT waste the time or energy on this BOOTLEG, TACKY place you will regret it!!
This is not worth it. I found a groupon for a haircut, style, and deep conditioning treatment with Kris Pontrich, the deal sounded appealing so I called her. When I spoke with her on the phone she was very nice and answered most of my questions with ease. So after talking to her I decided to make the appointment for today thursday 8/15/13 at 9:45 am. I made that appointment on monday so today when I am headed down there I call around 8:30 no answer, then I call again when I get there at 9:40 still no answer. Waited till 10 and still no answer so I left. I was standing outside their building wondering where she was. She did not return any of my calls on top of not showing up. If you want to go to a professional business for a haircut then this is obviously not the place. They don't have any consideration for you or your business. I will be telling everyone I know to spare then the heartache and frustration.
RUN, this Spa is the most unprofessional business I have encountered, EVER. I would give zero stars if I could. The Spa owner, Mandy Stallings, cancelled a scheduled birthday party for a 7 y.o. and a 9 y.o. DURING the party, via TEXT message. In April, I purchased a Groupon for a Spa party for 10 to 20 girls and the Q & A clearly stated they drive 30 minutes from Louisville. I scheduled the party on April 27 and provided the spa owner, Mandy, the party details and my full address on April 30. The party was on August 3 and I confirmed the week before, after spending months with my daughters planning this party. The party started at 1:00 with lunch, as the Spa team was scheduled to show up at 2:00 and last for 2 hours. We had 19, six to nine year old little girls in our home for this party. During the party, the first text I received at 1:12 p.m. from Mandy Stallings indicated they were running an hour behind due to a medical emergency. O.K., these things happen, we rearranged some things and dealt with it. Then, at 2:28, she texted me indicating there would be an additional $25.00 charge for gas and that her GPS was showing she was still 30 minutes away. O.K., would have paid any amount of money at that point for this to continue as planned. Then, she texted that I would have to call Groupon to get my money back that she could not come bc it would throw her off her other spa parties that day. (So I guess it was only o.k. for her to be late to our party?) When I tried calling, several times, she did not take my calls. Seriously, who does this stuff? I was in the middle of entertaining 19 little girls expecting a Spa party??? And, I have to deal with these TEXT messages with no recourse, whatsoever!!! Upon texting her that I was within 30 minutes of Louisville and she knew the address in April - three months earlier, she responded, again via text "With an Exit shutdown that means that we had to take an alternate route 20 minutes out-of-the-way" WHO cancels on two birthday kids DURING their party VIA TEXT? I'm mortified that I even considered using this service and my daughters are so upset after having to apologize to their guests bc the Spa people cancelled on us. Seriously, this is the worst situation for a parent to watch her two daughters during a party they actively planned for months, only to have it fall apart due to this situation. This Spa owner, Mandy Stallings, should be ashamed of herself. Not to mention, run out of business.
