All i have to say is thank God that this trip was not an emergency! I called to book a
cab and 45 minutes later, I was still waiting! I tried to get through to the dispatcher
after the wait as directed earlier.
I am still on hold waiting for the dispatch clocked in at 31:28 and waiting.
Ho hum, to say the least. thumbs down if you are not on the strip i suppose.
0 stars if I could!! This company is going to waste your time and not care at all. For the first time I needed a cab and I called them. Initially everything looked fine, the lady on the phone sounded kind and polite, and after getting my name phone number and address she said my taxi would be there in 20 minutes, and to call back if he didn't arrive by then. 20 min passed and no taxi, so I called back to check on the status. A male employee this time answer the phone, and told me the taxi was close by. Another 20 min passed and still no taxi, so after waiting in the street for 40 minutes I decide to call back once more. The guy told me that apparently the taxi driver that was supposed to pick me up had taken another person instead! (despite the fact that they had my information). He didn't sound bothered at all by their mistake (the awful customer service upon the issue was actually the fact that made me more upset). When I expressed my discontent, then he offered to send another cab...that of course would have taken another 20 min (if ever arrived!). Wasting an hour with this kind of service? thanks no thanks. I would never use their company again!
I did get the 20 min speech. But I did call back at about the 40 min mark. I was told that there were no cabs in my area and would I mind waiting just a little bit longer. The lady was nice and I was in a good mood so I accepted. 10 min later I was in a cab/van and on my way to the Greyhound bus terminal where I encountered a nightmare of epic proportions. Bottom line? They did right by me.

My experience with Checker has been positive. Drivers mostly have been polite, many with problems speaking & understanding English! Did have one driver who got lost, kept going when I'd told him he took the wrong turn, which became turnS, then tried to charge me for his stupidity. THIS cab did have the machine to accept my card, I called my bank, and the bank deducted overage without any fight from Checker! Their dispatcher told me SOME of their cabs accept credit and debit cards, but I've only found one! Although using a card adds $3. to the tab, it's worth it to me for business and because I do not like to carry a lot of cash! Although I've had drivers take me to the drive up bank to get cash, even turned off the meter as we waited (when I asked!). After living in a lot of major cities like NYC and Boston, it amazes me that most Las Vegas taxis don't accept cards; in fact, it blows my mind! When will they step into the 21st (or even 20th) century?!
On August 10th I visited Las Vegas and had a wonderful time. On the way to the airport from MGM my cell phone fell out of my pocket. The Yellow Cab driver Carmen (PR 3062) found my phone and called my daughter and told her she had it. We had already gone through security and were ready to get on the airplane in a few minutes. She said she would bring it back to the airport but I could not meet her. She was so kind and said she would return it to Lost and Found at her Yellow Cab headquaters at the end of the day. The next day I called Christine at Yellow Cab's Lost and Found and she said she would send it to me. Within a few days I had my cellphone. It is so wonderful to know that Yellow Cab has such caring staff to take care of me on my visit to Las Vegas. Thank you Yellow Cab, Carmen and Christine for everything you did.
Unable to work hours assigned from 12:30am to 12:30pm, due to my high blood pressure condition, I was not feeling that I could work to my full potential, I was falling asleep on the wheel, I did not feel safe to drive these hours. I ended up getting a fever on the second day of work, a doctor's note was required to return to work the next day, but I did not have any medical insurance nor did I have cash to pay for a doctor's visit, which I informed the supervisor ahead of time when I called in sick.
