Our fish is purchased from only select vendors and comes from all over the world, where it is iced, filleted and packed for delivery to customers daily. The dedication we have to our trade is evident in the quality of our products and the level of service we provide to each and every customer. Vince’s Shellfish Company operates with six large deep freezers and five refrigerated coolers. This enables Vince’s Shellfish to be fully contained and not dependent on outside storage. We are able to keep our fresh items at a constant 36-degree temperature and have an ice machine that produces 15 tons of ice daily. All seafood we receive in our plant is inspected for temperature, quality and country of origin in compliance with the guidelines of HACCP. We currently employ six full-time fish filleters who cut local fish daily, as well as 35 other employees.
Born and raised in North Beach in San Francisco, Vincent Svedise has been in the wholesale fish business for more than 60 years. Vincent first started his wholesale business at Fisherman’s Wharf. He then opened Vince’s Shellfish Company, Inc. in 1973 at our present location in San Bruno.

Vince’s Shellfish Company has since grown from 3,000 square feet to 25,000 square feet. Since Vincent’s retirement, his children - Christopher, Anna, Rosanna and Jeanette - have been running the company along with son-in-law Tim and daughter-in-law Donna.
Vince’s grandchildren - George, Vince, Michael and Tony - have joined the daily operation as the company continues to expand.
